Sierra Ferrell. Such a unique voice. She was singing on the streets of New Orleans in 2017 living in a van. Now she’s touring the country.
Check out “I can drive you crazy”

@Mizmazzle saw this and thought of you, what sick poster!

@Mizmazzle I'd need a little more time to plan a spontaneous trip to Colorado, but it's a legit bucket list thing for me, so some day!
Are they playing the 3h marathon shows again?

I saw a new album by Victims Family, who I thought was retired. It was a split album by them and Nasalrod. I’m now obsessed with Nasalrod. Doing some stuff I haven’t heard elsewhere. Got Fear’s old drummer doing some great work.

I was introduced to Silver Jews a few years ago, and they've since became one of my favourite bands.
David Berman's whimsical and idiosyncratic cryptic lyrics really captured my imagination, and I always appreciated being able to draw my own personal meaning from his writing.
Until this morning I had no idea he's released a record under the banner of Purple Mountains less than a month before his death in 2019.
Listened to it earlier with my morning coffee, and I was taken back by its directness, its so damn human and relatable! Very cathartic in it's themes of loneliness and the ongoing struggle to interface with this mad world...
The closing track was particularly poignant to me. Rather sad, but tinged with a little hope in learning to find acceptance of the hand we are dealt in life.

Glass Beams are hella fun. They’re coming to Denver and I’m stoked to see them. Not sure what’s in the water in Oz but an awful lot of creative music coming out.

@ARNC posting about his concert experience reminded me of this one.
Odd bedfellows but it works in a "macabre opera" sort of way

Man I love Scott Walker. What a wonderful weirdo.
-
@mclaincausey new to me but liked this enough to check out their schedule. They’re playing near me this weekend but both nights are sold out
-
@ARNC yeah they have gotten really popular suddenly on very limited releases. I heard them on the XM Chill station much to my surprise. I’m happy for them.
