      Perfect.  😉

          Superb.

          Wore them a week straight.
          Meetings with a blazer.
          Some hiking with a t-shirt.
          Hitting pubs with a shirt.

Fit is perfect. Will use comparison tool to decide between 634 and 888 as these have 634 top block and 888 thighs?

I’ve been wanting some khakis and am having a hard time deciding between these and the 9 oz.  Any opinions from those with both?

I’m also worried about this (the puckering, not @EdH ’s crotch)…

You caught me working from home, so if it helps, @Matt, here's a pic straight on. Can't say that little bit of white peeking out bothers me, or that I ever noticed it before  - I always wear these with a belt. I can't speak to the 9oz.

              Take the dive...

Silly question:  Why not wear a belt to hide it?

Not so bad from straight on.  I think I’d wear a belt with these anyway so I guess that’s no issue.  I don’t remember if Dickies do that.  I haven’t worn them since the police academy.

So I guess my issues now are heavy vs light(er), selvedge vs non and 888 vs new relaxed fit.  I prefer 888 and selvedge but the extra heft interests me very much.

Do we have a “This or That” thread?  If not I should start one.

In @Filthy DIY spirit, a plastic card or something else that could withstand laundering could be stitched in to give some rigidity to solve that problem.

My preferred fix would be a CPO snap closure instead of the hook fastener.

EDIT: the first proposal may not work unless the hook were somehow affixed to the rigid insert, as I think about it

                    Think it, be it.

I think some reinforcement stitching through the khaki and the waistband liner around the clasp would do it.  But it might not be serious enough an issue to warrant any adjustments.  I’m sure those who know better than me are on the case.

My real question now is 12 vs 9.  I know I like the selvedge and I’m sure the fit on both will work.  I’m just torn on the material I guess.  I’d love to feel both.

Surely the answer is always both.  🙂

In terms of the waistband, how easy would it be to add a French bearer (or something similar)? It might just need something to slightly reduce the tension on the hook fastener.

A this vs that on the Khakis would be nice indeed. I have the 730 iteration, but I am experiencing the same issues with the white fabric showing a little.

But I'd like to know the difference in the top block between the regular and the relaxed fit. My regulars seem to be a bit restricting in the front, which may be due to the fairly high rise, aka 888 top block? I'm thinking that maybe the wider thighs may offset to that, but I'm not entirely sure.

Damn these are good. My wife’s comment was “material looks thick but buttery, and they fit you so well.” Couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks Graham and crew for perfect hem and great customer service.
