Seul, started Get Back last night and loving it. Now just waiting for Billy Preston to make his arrival. The bickering and insight into the creative process is already amazing.

Also, we started Season 2 of The Great on Hulu and it’s fantastic as well.

Yeah it's a bit of a shitshow in part 1, but as soon as they move to the London studio, and especially when Billy joins them, it becomes incredibly beautiful stuff… Absolutely necessary viewing...

LIFE OF CRIME 1984 - 2020 (2021). HBO doc following some folk from New Joisey… Basically a doc on crime and drug abuse... Harsh as all hell... This is a condensed version of the OG three part doc so it clocks in at 120'.

If you need to counter all this bleak misery, try the new SOUTH PARK Post Covid special, which is an absolute riot!..

I gave up on this show somewhere halfway through season 1… Luckily I started it again, and it's one of my favourite current shows... S03 being the best season by far...

WU TANG: AN AMERICAN SAGA... Almost done with S01... It's good stuff, great music, and some ole familiar faces!..

New TOAST OF LONDON season is out!.. Now called TOAST IN TINSELTOWN... He's made it to Hollywood and is starring in the new Star Wars flick... Yeah, sure!.. Luckily we can all still hear Clam Fandango.

New COBRA KAI is cheesy and pretty good... Have some more eps to watch...

BOOK OF BOBA FETT's pretty much more of the same but who can complain about that?.. Only watched the first ep though...

THE EXPANSE is trying to cram a lot of stuff into a 6-episode finale season... Not convinced it's working but still have some eps to go...

ANTIDISTURBIOS was a good watch... Bit cliche-ridden and nothing groundbreaking though...

Gonna start YELLOWJACKETS soon... Heard good things so far...

Oh and I also have that HARRY POTTER reunion thing lined up... Goddamn it I must hate myself something fierce...

I dug Midnight Mass but also agree about the ending feeling rushed. I still enjoyed it, though.

Really been loving Station Eleven — I read the book and although the series diverges a little, it's still f'n great and the acting is particularly strong.

I love Succession but I'm not sure how much bandwidth I have left for those people after the last season. They're so immensely hateable. I do like Greg and Tom the best (or dislike them the least?), and I love their weird buddy relationship.

Not sure if anybody's watched South Side, but I feel like it's one of the very funniest shows on TV at the moment. I'm rewatching S1 with my lady, who hasn't seen it yet — super psyched to get to S2.

Oh and the Expanse? I'm a fan of the books and the show, can't decide what to make of the new season yet, though.

I fucking hate them, and most of my ranting at the TV is reserved for how utterly fucking useless they both are…...

I enjoyed watching it too @Jett129 (my following rant will say otherwise), but I have some bad things to say about Netflix movies as a whole. After watching the last 2 big actor movies that came out recently (Don't Look up Leo and J Law, and Red Notice Rock and Ryan Reynolds) I can say that the movie industry, especially on "straight to streaming service" platform, is in serious trouble.

Neither movie has any rewatchablility. They don't make you feel anything. It's like the directors sit around the idea table and say "ok we've got the plot, now cut out all character building scenes or anything remotely slow or that bog down the story". "If we're going to keep these idiots' attention, and keep them off their phones for more than 2 seconds, we have to fucking slam from scene to scene with bright colors and action like they're toddlers".

If movies from now on are designed to keep my attention once, but never watch again and never mutter a positive word after watching, than they are successful.

The way I think of the characters of Succession is that, yes, each is a piece of shit in their own way, but that their flaws mostly follow from their abusive patriarch mistreating them and deliberately undermining them when he isn't pitting them against one another (and often both). So, yeah, no one seems redeemable, but I blame Logan Roy more than I do their station in society / the economy (though surely both are to blame).

This article about Jeremy Strong got a lot of flack from defensive associates of his, but it is a helluva read (or a listen if you have Apple News+). I don't understand why it got the reaction it does–Strong comes off pretentious AF, but so what?

                                            Think it, be it.
