I’d imagine the difference is marginal to none. And at the end of the day the major differential will be whichever pair you will wear the most.

I once had black jeans with a shiny effect. The fabric may have been impregnated with something. But the effect persisted even after washing. Has IH made something similar before, or is IH going to do it in the future?

Maybe model 634S-18P has a shiny effect?

I think the answer is "no," but you definitely see a similar sheen on some of IH's denims initially, and sometimes in some lights my IH-666S14OD have a similar sheen, though less uniform and concentrated in high-wear areas.

          Think it, be it.

Looks like the shine is from a wax or oil treatment.  Check out the oiled M-65 that was just released.

Does the 555-02 stretch as much as the 555-01?  The thighs and back of the knee are a little tight after the soak.

I'm breaking in a pair of 888-XHSMB and I have never had to struggle so much with a button-fly as I did with these.  No kidding, every keystroke of this post is killing me because my fingers are still sore from yesterday.

The question:  IH jeans come with the top button cinched, does someone manually button these before they ship out or is the button applied and the jeans then shipped (i.e. no one manually buttons/unbuttons before shipping out)?

All our jeans come unbuttoned, one of the team will button the top button so we can take an accurate waist measurement prior to shipping. That said, some of us do require a tool to assist them on the heavier denim… @AdamC  😶

I have a few systems in place for this…I put a sharpie through the hole and kinda wiggle it around.  I use needlenose pliers like you mentioned.  Normally, after a few rounds of buttoning/unbuttoning, it becomes pretty simple.  For some reason, the top button is just giving me a lot of trouble this time.

If it doesn't lighten up by tomorrow, I'll try that leather oil idea.  Thanks!

@Paul9221 The two things I have seen used which are not the button-doer-upers that we have (which we are trying to get pushed into production for distribution with jeans) are either needlenosed pliers pushed into the hole and then opened firmly for a minute or so, or alternatively a tapered ring sizer inserted into the hole to speed up the stretching of the buttonhole

A tapered ring-sizer!  Of course!  That's a brilliant idea!  I have one of those.  I'll give it a shot.

Ha!  There's no shame in that!  I have a couple of 25oz en route right now (XHSib & XHS), and after spending all day fussing with these XHSMB, I'm dying a little inside at the thought of having to go through it all over again with those two.

Maybe I should have IH ship all of my 25oz denim to you first, and then I pay you to ship them to me with the button hole loosened 😃
