    @Phil1880:

I have a question rw shirt sizing, I recently order a shirt in xxxxl, but the label in the shirt says SP Large, is this correct ?  I've just measured the pit to pit and waist and it's smaller that the stated size on the info section for the specific  shirt.  Thanks.

No idea about the SP Large. Someone from IHUK will be able to tell you. What I can say is that there is often variation in measurements between items of the same size. The measurements on the tables are aggregate of a selection of shirts, so some will be smaller or bigger. What kind of difference are we talking about? 1-2cm?

SP Large is XXXXL.  We don't have XXXXL labels….

Hello dear team, I’m little bit confused with measurings provided via table, I’d like to purchase your  Ultra Heavy Flannel Ombré Check Work Shirt - Navy/Black, but really don’t know what size to choose. Made my own measuring on other shirt, and I’m 46-47cm in shoulder, 64,5cm in sleeve, 48cm in waist and 52cm in ches, 175cm height, 62-63kg weight. Looking to table provided it’s like L(speaking of shoulders, where I think all shirts should fit first of all), but absolutely ALL my clothings are in S size. Could you kindly help me to understand what size to choose?

say if I've got a pair of iron hearts, but I'm no longer happy with the size. how would you go about measuring something that'll fit better?

say if I wanna go a size or 2 up..

@LewisStonehouse yeah I've been mulling it since last year. but at that point decided to stick with the usual. for me, it boils down to if 1 size up is enough or do I need to go 2? but then also, how much difference would that make in terms of the fit..

Yeah similar thoughts here, I was thinking one up. The other, better, option (for me at least) is going to be to try and shift my lockdown lard

Potententially quite a lot of difference I would say. I’m basing this on owning the 888 in two sizes (W34 and W35). The top block and especially leg silhouette are quite different to my eye. I also have the 666 in different sizes and the bigger pair looks more like a 634 on me.

I’m still happy with the bigger pairs, but they are different.

Edit: more relevant perhaps, I have the IH463-S in W34 and W36 the same difference is there. That is interesting though because the bigger pair give a silhouette that is much closer to what I assume was intended imho.

I can't say for everyone else. but for me, it's been the 666. that's my perfect fit that I've been used to for the past 4,5 years. so thinking of sizing 1 or even 2 up.

Is there a sizing guide for the IH-805? I need some clarification on the tag size to waist numbers. The tag size 36 is actually a 41"? If I wear a 36 IH-666S-21 would the 36 be the recommended size IH-805? Many thanks

I’d say that would depend on how you want them to fit. Look at the thigh and knee measurements to see how loose or tight tts or a size down will be. They’re supposed to be cut roomy, so I think most folks go true-to-size, and some brave souls size down. I wouldn’t even think of sizing down because of the thigh. That’s going to be your key measurement, as waist won’t tell you much. It just sits in a totally different place than jeans, so is hard to compare.

As always @sabergirl is dead right, @2d you wouldn’t want the waist of overalls to fit as they would on a pair of jeans because they are kept up my shoulder straps rather than grabbing your waist. I wear a 36 in the 634 and 888 cuts and have a 36 in the 805, it’s a reasonably relaxed fit without being too baggy, which is exactly what I want from them. I’d suggest if you wear a slimmer cut in jeans you’d want to size down 🙂

For everyone on the fence re: sizing. Why are you not using the sizing charts that IH publishes prior to purchase and instead of going with your normal size?

In my opinion, the greatest resource/best thing about IH customer service is their measuring standards and publication of those measurements in advance to selling the items.

Really would like your feedback on this.

@goosehd Not sure if this was meant for me, but thought I'd weigh in anyway. Personally I always use the sizing charts. Indeed one of the great things with IH/IHUK.

With shirts that tends to work out to be XXL for me in most cases. One exception being CPO shirts where I seem to be 50/50 XL or XXL, if I have the option.

For jackets it typically varies a bit more, between different jackets and different batches. For instance in the latest 526L batch I got an XL, but in the previous batch the XXL would have been a better fit. No problem, as you can always rely on the sizing charts.

There are times though when more than one size would work. This is pretty common for me at least, with IH offering 8 (!) sizes for a single shirt. And I'm also not that particular about sizing. In these cases a specific measurement (like the length, shoulder width etc.) may sway me one way or the other. The fabric can play a part as well (heavy and/or stiff fabric = I would typically lean towards more generous measurements), and also how you plan to wear it (personal preference, layering etc). Chances are I'd be happy either way.

In this case both XL and XXL would probably work well for me (even the XXXL if I wanted room for layering), but @Oaktavia specifically mentioned it could be fairly tight in the armpit area, which is one thing I can find rather annoying. I appreciate that bit of insight, and went with the XXL.
