Loved the whole quote, especially the second half.  😃

No private person should own a firearm! It's exhausting but if I look at how many people die in the US due to guns I wouldn't be that proud about all the that firearm and NRA shit… justmy2cents.

Good thing you don't live here then fella, you don't have to deal with them.

2020 has been a year of EPIC releases…

          "Grandpa, what was 2020 like?"

"Oh boy!  The IHM-27 in olive dropped again!  I had been waiting for that for like 2 years!  And then, the button-hole problem was resolved and the denim work shirts were finally back on the menu!  Haraki brewed some magic pigment to make stuff 'mad black'.  And if that wasn't enough, duck sneakers came out!  Oh, there was this world-wide pandemic too."

Okay, slubby denim and IH over engineering?
Not since Nelson split the line of battle at Aboukir Bay to defeat Brueys d'Aigalliers or Mink DeVille did the Cadillac Walk has there been such excitement 'round this house.  Okay, so maybe those two things are not like the other thing but this stuff rocks my boat.

.          @profdbrk Love the Mink DeVille reference. One of my favorite bands from the CBGB days. My band opened for them on several occasions, most notably on the night that Capitol Records came down, with the intention of signing The Tuff Darts, but signed Mink DeVille instead.

I felt reasonably confident that Mink DeVille, Lord Nelson, and Iron Heart had never been mentioned in the same sentence before.  Now twice.  I used to hang in CBGBs particularly to see Mink–-I was admittedly less of a punker.  I'm still a rock' n' soul man, Southside style.  I may well have seen your band.  You surely rocked, still do.  Still playing?  Someday at an IH gig we can tear down the house---I'm not exactly Nicky Hopkins (who is?) but I can keep up.  Let's do it.  Thanks for the kind note.

I’m pretty sure you popped the Mink DeVille cherry on the IH forum. I got spoiled, getting to play in bands that did original material,so when I,occasionally, get invited to jam on some covers,I tend to decline. Played with Poppees,Sorrows, and the infamous Wayne/Jayne County back in the day.

Well, since you asked.  The Grammys ignores a disturbingly large portion of new music in favor of what’s readily accessible on top 40 radio.  Clean, polished radio friendly actors like Green Day and Maroon 5. It celebrates not the quality of musicianship, songwriting or even critical acclaim and instead celebrates music that achieves its popularity from children and low IQ adults.

I accept that the Grammys are what they are and not something I’d prefer them being, but as a lover of good music I still hate them.

Modern men are better off ignoring them and allowing their sons to move forward with a more inclusive and complete version of what it means to be a man.

Exactly. Getting hung up on what we think others expect of our gender is a trap, even sort of ironically (if harmlessly) demonstrated in this thread when a couple of us who wear this bag asserted facts about their lives in defense of their masculinity.

I think we are better focused on what it means to be a good and happy human being than on conforming to external expectations of any sort, be they around gender, race, creed, sexuality, nationality, etc.
Ha. Look what we did to this poor thread about a bag.
