I do not want any shrinkage after washing…is that possible? Cold/cold wash every time it stinks?

I always wear undershirts too…my westerns would get super smelly without them haha...but the thickness of the fabric inside the armpit I think just needs some breaking in. I'm still used to my super broken in IHSH-110 and was surprised how thick the IHSH-62 is.

It is a beast of a shirt so this sounds about right. This area sees a lot of movement so it will break in soon enough.

Pardon the grumpy photos, but I have been slowly thinking that perhaps this XL is too small for me. I feel that it fits my arms perfectly, and the length, chest and pretty much everywhere seems fine, except the waist/belly. I understand that I have a beer gut with a mostly skinny build.

My question to you all fine folks is should I keep pressing this shirt and hope it continues to break in and eventually will feel less stiff and relax around my waist? Or to buy an XXL if I can find one and have a looser fit. If I can pull this one off I will keep wearing it but when I sit down I can feel the fabric battling with my gut. I also understand that exercise can help with this (as does my girlfriend, though she tells me the shirt looks fine). Any feedback would be helpful.

I'm in a similar situation as you, waist-wise, and I'd size up and then give the XXL a warm-ish wash. I think you could also do with a little extra length there.

I think it depends on you. You have your own style and look, and I think that shirt works with it, possibly better than the XXL would?

The length is great imho, and while I can see it stretches a little over the belly, the rest looks good too.

So the question is one of preference. Is it uncomfortable to wear? Do you find yourself not reaching for it because of that? Because if you enjoy it as it is, I say carry on.

I was also worried an XXL might be too large everywhere else besides the belly. I also have some fades forming in the elbow creases that I am already pleased with, which makes me want to keep what I have.

I would not say it is uncomfortable to wear, except after a large dinner and several drinks on the couch. But I feel like most people share the same feeling, like how some people comically unbutton their pants after overeating.

I actually find myself reaching for it more often than my other IHSHs with hopes of a continued break in process.

I think the shirt looks really good. A little exercise isn’t a bad thing, and you get to keep fading that shirt. Everything in life is a trade off. I’d do crunches and keep the shirt.

Another piece of advice that you might enjoy is more Bourbon and less beer. Sipping a bourbon instead of knocking back 2-3 beers will put less inches on the proverbial beer belly. I think I know that you’re a fan as well.

I think that is your answer right there. As for the fabric softening, it will but it takes a bit of time.
