@Filthy hope you'll be feeling better soon. The show might have been the start and motivate you to go out more often which i think helps. Btw I Saw Sleep for the first time this year and it was a really great experience.

I used to go out a lot. But I had a tendency to fall in with shitty people. I have been trying to avoid this so now I tend to stay home. I need to join a church or something haha xD

To UK based folks, I wouldn’t miss it if you dig this kind of music.
Sample:
Saw him with Dave Rawlins in North Carolina couple years ago.
And he’s also a gold mine era/ classic Americana denim aficionado. See> WH Ranch Dungarees.

@Wander I knew My Bubba (their body percussion is fantastic). Hadn't heard him though. Sort of a Colter Wall feel. Good stuff.Gillian Welch and Lucinda Wlliams really blew the doors off for anything even slightly Americana to have a wider audience. No bad thing.

We're in the midst of an Americana renaissance. And while have lost folks like Guy Clark as a great generation of singers/songwriters ages, the likes of Bob Dylan, John Prine, Ray Wylie Hubbard, James McMurtry, Jorma Kaukonen, and others are still producing music, including live music. Lucky us.
Towards the country end of the spectrum, you have the emergence of Shooter Jennings, Brent Cobb, Dave Cobb, Chris Stapleton, Landhorne Slim, Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, Ryan Bingham, Sturgill Simpson, Margo Price, Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, Rayland Baxter, Mary Gauthier, and Hayes Carll just to name a few.
Then there are tons of folky and (new / ) grassy (Billy Strings, Shakey Graves, Punch Brothers, Wood Brothers, Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters, Lil' Smokies, Trampled By Turtles, Pert' Near Sandstone, millions more of em) acts as well. And many of the best ones can span all of the above genres and more.

May I add-Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert, Brandy Clark, and the fabulous Quebe Sisters.

Enjoyed this 'Americana' recently…

"Wake Up" by Rage Against the Machine covered by a band with horns. How cool is this?
Also, I'm pretty sure I'm in love with her.

Today I drove with my little son to our local Ski area Winterberg.
We had 5 hours to listen and discuss music ... loved and enjoyed every second!
We heard two independent German radio stations called ‚Dradiokultur‘ and ‚1Live‘.In the end, he likes this song a little bit (had to explain a lot 8)).
He complete crosstalked this beautiful tune :'(, but he was on fire after a wonderful Ski day :D:
