@Wander I knew My Bubba (their body percussion is fantastic). Hadn't heard him though. Sort of a Colter Wall feel. Good stuff.Gillian Welch and Lucinda Wlliams really blew the doors off for anything even slightly Americana to have a wider audience. No bad thing.

@Stuart.T. Check out Brandi Carlile…she’s establishing herself now, I saw her with the Avett Brothers ( my fav. These days)...lots of good stuff - young blood Americana.

          Wander, you fool!

We're in the midst of an Americana renaissance. And while have lost folks like Guy Clark as a great generation of singers/songwriters ages, the likes of Bob Dylan, John Prine, Ray Wylie Hubbard, James McMurtry, Jorma Kaukonen, and others are still producing music, including live music. Lucky us.

Towards the country end of the spectrum, you have the emergence of Shooter Jennings, Brent Cobb, Dave Cobb, Chris Stapleton, Landhorne Slim, Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, Ryan Bingham, Sturgill Simpson, Margo Price, Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, Rayland Baxter, Mary Gauthier, and Hayes Carll just to name a few.

Then there are tons of folky and (new / ) grassy (Billy Strings, Shakey Graves, Punch Brothers, Wood Brothers, Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters, Lil' Smokies, Trampled By Turtles, Pert' Near Sandstone, millions more of em) acts as well. And many of the best ones can span all of the above genres and more.

            Think it, be it.

My favourite Label put out three fantastic records lately (Svartidaudi, Suplhur Aeon and most of all: Chapel of Disease). If you're into metal of any kind and haven't heard it yet - check it out.

That Chapel of Disease record is so great.  In a year full of great releases it's easily one of my favorites…

When it comes to live producing music solo on stage... FKJ was the man in 2018 for me:

                            ...

Today I drove with my little son to our local Ski area Winterberg.
We had 5 hours to listen and discuss music ... loved and enjoyed every second!
We heard two independent German radio stations called ‚Dradiokultur‘ and ‚1Live‘.

In the end, he likes this song a little bit (had to explain a lot  8)).

He complete crosstalked this beautiful tune :'(, but he was on fire after a wonderful Ski day  :D:

Mining the back catalogue again this evening. Came across three minutes of the best punk music without guitars since Suicide. I'd forgotten how much I love this (and Amanda Palmer in general).

Surprised to see Mink DeVille here. Saw them many times as well as doing several shows with them at CBGB and on the road. Great band. True story,Capitol Records had came to CBGB to see and sign a band called Tuff Darts. Mink DeVille were opening for them,my band The Poppees was third on that bill. Unfortunately for the Tuff Darts, they got there early saw Mink DeVille, signed them and passed on the Tuff Darts.
