Friday night I had a party at my flat, so yesterday was spent entirely on the sofa recovering. I needed some fresh air today, so went for a walk around the sea front this afternoon.
Portsmouths answer to Brighton pier, Clarence pier which bizarrely is not actually a pier.. It used to be home to a very very shit London eye replica, but it was recently decommissioned (read: someone pointed out how dangerous it was to have that sort of structure on a beach that gets winds of up to 100mph in a storm)
A view over the Solent, in the background you can see two of the forts in the solent which are part of the Palmerston Forts. One of them is now a luxury hotel and another (out of shot) is a slightly less luxury hotel.
Portsmouth is home to the last passenger carrying hovercraft in the world:

The Portsmouth Naval Memorial
Southsea Castle, built in the 1500s by Henry VIII as part of the Device programme, it now houses a brewery and champagne parties in the summer months.
One of the biggest tourist pulls for the town
The view looking back at Gosport from Eastney, the south-eastern most point of Portsea island

And the soundtrack to the walk:
