We now send Canadian shipments via UPS and mark the shipment "as sender pays any taxes and duty", so there should be no taxes paid by the receiver

Presumably a faster service where there is no risk of you paying tax or duty is better?

I’m never there for delivery and getting to a depot within UPS’s hours of operation when I am available is a pretty big inconvenience. But I know that is a “me” problem.

Edit: Unless something has changed in how IHUK fills out the paperwork, Parcelforce would get my parcels to me within a couple of days and, well, with respect to tax and duty, that hasn’t really been a problem…  😶

We can deliver to your work, or remove the signature requirement if that helps.

Yes, I suppose that is an option. Though, I do prefer to keep my personal life separate from my work life. Thanks for talking it through.

And Parcelforce (EMS) cost us 3x (yes 3 times) as much as sending via UPS, that is why we are prepared to pay any duties levied on UPS shipments

Ah, well, that makes perfect sense. Thanks, guys.

Any one have experience using a UPS Access Point? What is the process for having a personal parcel delivered to one?

@Shoreman We have a number of customers who have items delivered to UPS Access points. Time they'll hold packages often varies but with usually flexible opening hours it's a good alternative to planning being at your home when the driver comes!

We mark the shipment for the attention of the customer meaning proof of ID is required to collect. There are plenty of locations near you. You can search them all here.

The devil is in the detail..

Ah! Sounds promising…So, if I use my work address as the initial delivery address but prefer to have the parcel delivered to an Access Point, a picture ID, regardless of home address, will suffice for pick-up?

You may be asked to prove you work there, with a business card or something. That is down to your local office though

That won't be a problem. I'll pop in and ask, just to make sure. Thanks, guys.

Any one in canada have recent experience with ups from IHUK ? Duties, taxes etc? Want to place an order but don't want to get robbed. I know denimio uses ems and i have never got hit with any additional charges. Hoping IHUK is similar.

We ship as sold, but we ship to Canada duty paid by the shipper.

Do any of you have a method for keeping your jacket collars from going flat?  I have this problem, especially on my cord. type IIIs.

When I put them on a hanger,I button the first few buttons. I’ve definitely found that to help. Do it with shirts as well.

That's a good tip!  I'll make sure do that when I get home. I'd love to hear a solution for my presently limp collars though 🙂

Not really sure what you mean by limp collars. Maybe you could post a picture. There’s got to be some kind of Viagra joke here, but I can’t come up with it.
