Ever find yourself needing some insoles quick and not knowing which ones to get so just picking up something cheap locally or robbing some insoles from one of your other pairs of shoes?…

Now we have a thread to find good insoles.

For starters I have been trying to source good american insoles and this has been fairly difficult, but I have by accident found something rather amazing hiding away in a pair of Thorogood shoes I saw a while back…
      Union-made in Wisconsin insoles:

Also, Allen Edmonds has some decent looking insoles as well:

For San Franciscans, I recommend checking out "On The Run" at 9th and Irving Street.  For years I've been buying this "Stable Feet" brand.  Fiber glass core and one of the best insoles I've tried.  They're not available online because the sales associates will have to fit you right and heat mold the insoles.  Not cheap either… about $60 bucks a pair but super tough

Im not really a fan of brands really especially when it comes to insoles… for me its less about the brand and more about the support... I have supination and some superfeet insoles i have tried before really have done more bad than good..... in the end I ended up getting a pair of unbranded insoles which seemed to work for me; http://nuovahealth.co.uk/shop/new-premium-orthotic-sport-insoles though if they work for you is another story I guess as nobody has the same feet and what works for some people may not work for others.

Also...I don't get why insoles makers try and make insoles look stylish... after all who is going to actually see them?

bumping this thread to get some opinions. What are y'all using in your shoes? I picked up a pair of Superfeet orange to put in my Red Wings, and a pair of the Superfeet Run for my converse.

I like these so far, but are there other better options that y'all are using?

@chrisjohnnick I have used Dr. Scholls work models of insoles, which are quite cushioned. I like them.

Also though, I have some I got on Amazon that are from Nick's Boots. These are just leather with no cushion and work great as well.

                  Think it, be it.

Great thread.. Second the leather insoles from Nicks.. Really comfortable as they mold to your feet rather quickly. The best option out there for reducing interior volume about a half-size as well (if needed).

Good info on the leather inserts, I'll have to look into them!

I initially went to the Red Wing store in town, and they had some leather ones, but I wanted something more padded. They had their own RW branded padded non-leather ones that they said were made by Superfeet, but they were a little more expensive (I guess just for the RW name). That's why I initially went with the Superfeet instead.

The Nick’s are comfy but not cushioned or padded. At least the ones I have. Just a couple mm of nice leather. For me I can find comfort in cushioned and completely hard insoles if it’s a good build that fits well.

Spenco are a nice option with various models with different level of cushioning.

Looks like denim truly is the fabric of our salvation.

I use Birkenstock cork, half insoles. Very comfortable fit and feel.
