Found out about this brand from Naked and Famous. Made in Canada from 100% merino. It really surprised me how stretchy it is with zero acrylic. Very nice.

Michael Cerny in Germany makes Newsboy Caps out of deerskin from Gerberei Kolesch, who also supply the hides for the Big Buck shirts. I haven't handled one, but they look lovely.

@JunkPants Attractions make a similar horsehide leather cap with a similar design under their Biltbuck label. It might be another option for an extravagant gift.

I've got one, although mine is more of a dark brown verging on black. It's beautifully made. I haven't worn it too much recently, as it gets a bit sweaty in the summer.

CFD denim cap came today. Very cool. I love how it's almost slightly off center. You can tell someone made it. Not just a machine. The stitching in the bill is amazing and the cone denim is spot on. Took about 4 weeks to be ordered and delivered at a fair price. Now to put a patch on it as planned?

@Graeme I just ordered one of these hats from Michael as a Christmas gift for my brother in law. Thanks a ton for sharing! Really excited to give this to him and check it out first hand!

On a business note, Michael has been pure class to deal with. He showed me pictures of the hides he has so I can choose the one I like the most and the color I prefer. Super nice guy with incredible communication. Couldn't he happier so far!!

@goosehd He said it would be here to Colorado before Christmas. It takes him about four labor hours to make the hats. So not too long to get all in all. He said he'd have it shipped out this week.

Michael completed the hat today (4.5 hours of handcrafted labor) and shipped it out by the end of the German work day.

The order was placed Sunday evening after a very pleasant and detailed discussion of leather, travel, whiskey, and well made things. Monday morning he sent me pictures of the hides he has so we could dial in the color that would best meet my preference, followed by more pleasant communication.

This morning he reached out with photos of the finished hat and had it boxed and ready to ship by days end.

All said, I don’t think a better customer service experience would be possible up to this point.
