Story time
Last year I received a pair of 888-UHR as a gift from @Memphisakers and it actually started a short lived topic called 'the filthy gift' where you give away an item and the person who wants it also gifts an item etc. in Memoriam of late forum legend Mike.
Fast forward about 18 months of almost continuous wear and 3 soaks. Hope I made Mike proud

I could tell by the color of the water, that this would be a good soak.

The coulor after the rinse is like perfect blue
This is where I'm at:

I'll be sending em back to IH for a hem and will take a picture under natural light once I get 'em back, these pictures don't to this pair justice
Last saturday was one for the history books. I was able to grill a whole left beefribcage over an open fire on a home made setup. Took about 8u of both direct and indirect heat. The result was incredible and I ended up sharing the food with 40 people.
The food and drink was good, but the time spend with friends and family were de real soulfood. This is why I love BBQ.

Our old sofa needed replacing so after months of searching the internet, I landed this good as new "FSM" (a sister company of "de Sede") Velas for 350€ on a second hand website. (retail was about 16K) but more importantly, I think it looks and sits great!

like you, I'm on a similar path. In the last "Ironcast" episode, @Blowoutthecobwebs spoke about a Netflix series called 'the minimalists' that I actually watched a couple years ago when it just came out and while the guys voice is quite annoying
what he said still sticks with me to this day.
My wife left me in the beginning of last year and despite it being an emotional shitstorm, it also gave me the opportunity to start fresh. Half my house was empty and I could chose if I wanted to replace something or not. Instead of just going to Ikea and getting the same items, I'm taking my time living with less stuff and found out I rarely miss anything. If I do have to buy something, I'm going for the best item to serve my purpose.
As for clothes, the biggest thing that got me to reduce my wardrobe is to only buy black clothes. (with the exception of my 21/23OZ because IH doesn't make that in black YET)
Going into the city center, I see so many people aimlessly shopping around trying to fill some sort of void that it's really making me sad sometimes. Or going into stores like H&M or Zara and seeing all that crap clothing just waiting to be worn once and thrown out, all the labor and effort for people who don't need it... We give cars such a bad rep for ruining the planet, and nobody bats an eye about people throwing out 81 pounds of clothing each year, it blows my mind.
Anyway, I always have an eye open for interesting stuff, but rarely do I buy something now because I 'need it' and that helps keep my focus on what's most important: my kids.
I love how the crazy scales start at 4
For those of you who don't know the brand:
https://www.13luckymonkey.com/products/ysabelle-1
If you know the Manila-based duo Dante Dizon and Noli Coronado, you know they don't do "mass-produced." The Ysabelle is a masterclass in their signature style—a beautiful, haunting blend of floral motifs and anatomical precision. It’s heavy, it’s intricate, and it feels like a modern relic.
Specs:
Material: Solid .925 Sterling Silver.

Weight: Substantial (this isn't a thin band; you’ll feel the silver).
Condition: 9/10 - Lightly worn with a natural patina
Size: 10
Asking price: 300€ (Paypal F&F - shipping Incl)
Managed to 'accidentally' ride the Muur van Geraardsbergen last week. To those who follow pro cycling: I apologize for disrespecting such a hallowed climb with my lack of preparation. To everyone else: it’s famous, it’s cobblestones, and it’s brutal.

This wouldn't replace the need to understand fabric characteristics, but it would bridge the gap between a spreadsheet and a real-world fit. Since IH already captures these measurements so accurately, we’re 90% of the way there. We just need a way to overlay that info.
I wouldn’t bring it up if I didn't think it would be a huge value-add for the customer base. Bike Insights (https://bikeinsights.com) is the perfect proof of concept for how well this works.
@goosehd this is exactly what I'm talking about, but more in general across all clothes. the Link is wonderful if you want to onderstand how a specific cut is different from the next, but if you look at 2 pairs of 888's in 21oz, one OD and the other Plain indigo, size charts for a size 33 will be different between the two. If you put the sizecharts for both pairs in an excell and let in generate an image you can overlay both and have a much more visual understanding of the difference.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been getting into cycling lately and stumbled across a site called Bike Insights. For those who haven’t seen it, they take frame geometries and turn them into "stick figure" overlays. It lets you visually stack two different bike frames on top of each other to see exactly how the angles and dimensions differ.
It got me thinking: Could we do this for Iron Heart gear?
We all spend a lot of time obsessing over size charts and comparing our best-fitting shirts or jeans to the new drops. Imagine if we could select two items from the IH database and see a visual overlay of the silhouettes. It would take so much guesswork out of the "Should I size up?" struggle.
Benefits would be:
Less "analysis paralysis" with size charts.
Visualizing the taper in different denim cuts.
Fewer returns/exchanges for the IH crew.
If that's the lunchbox, I can only dream of the lunch
I liked my first pair of Flower Mountain sneakers so much I decided to get a second pair for winter
I got the Flower Mountain x Dandelion Mountaineering Association - Back Country UNI
Sneakers in leather and waterproof technical fabric, with ultralight rubber sole and fluorescent compound. Part of the capsule created with the Dandelion Mountaineering Association.

I've been wearing them for about 2 months, they keep my feet warm and dry without overcooking them, something I've never had in a sneaker before.
also the grip is good on mud / snow and wet surface. In short, it's the best winter sneaker I've ever owned.
Hey @kiya , does Kei Shigenaga still make those silver rings with the inlays?
@Inorganic I've been looking for a vintage B3 for ages, I found one in a thrift store in Amsterdam a couple years ago for 100€ but it wasn't my size.
Great score! even better if its the right size, but you might get a good buck for vintage MIL stuff (A quick google search on the M-1951 pants reveal around 80$)
