Kicking off the Thursday theme a little early for some…
This penny represents everything I love about this place and the people who frequent here. When Mike passed, the penny returned to IHUK which was auctioned off in support of his mom and cat. The winning bidder immediately returned the penny to be auctioned off again donating the winning bid to his memory. This happened again and again which now resides in IHUK Gosport permanently along with his favourite pair of bibs. My grail was to be a little part of this entire thing that we call the forum.
I have said many times, that I came here for the clothes and stay for the people. This penny represents the people who share that belief who have laughed, cried, shared stories, meals, and drinks together. We have a bond that is more than which can be easily explained…
Thank you and love you all

Here's the penny. These were world famous because Giles shared the pic on Facebook and Instagram xD

I blew the button off my Beatle Busters. (Giles was right! I shouldn't have sized down!) So I made a sew-on button out an old copper penny, and affixed it with some Kevlar. It turned out really great. I made the holes in the penny using a center punch, and hammered out the penny making it concave using a ball-pin hammer as a die and a 9 pound hammer. It took 2 blows over a piece of soft pine to make the right shape. I might like this better than the regular button.
