This is all so exciting news. I am eager to start saving up money for a pair of my own. Is this still an incubating idea or is there some sort of release time-frame estimated?

I think I would go with a 634 or 888 with UHR if that route is taken…from what I gather those cuts will more comfortable with 23oz.

Any chance of a chino with on-seam-pockets? I love those and would replace all my existing chinos (olive,khaki, brown, navy) if I could get IH ones in something like a 721 cut.

Not Ooe Yofukuten, by any chance? I'm guessing there could be other husband wife denim factories but it can't be too long a list

By mill I meant the place where the denim is woven.  It is a shed on the side of a small house just outside Kojima, somewhere I have photos of my visit there, but can't find atm.  I would think that the only thing in common with the mill and Ooe Yofukuten, is that the husband may have heard of them, but even that I doubt…....

Oh gotcha. I know Ooe is a husband/wife team and I thought they weave their own denim but could be totally wrong there. Regardless, super psyched to check out the the new denim when it comes out!

edit: I looked it up. The two of them make all their products, but not the denim itself.

Yeah I just had the "New In" section of the site open and noticed for the first time that the western chambrays are like this, so there's precedent. Cool!

Id like to see the big boy sized jackets and tops get wider instead of longer..
I need to get to the 4XL to get the width I need ( and just barely) but I don't need the sleeve and back length that comes with that size..

There has to be a few of us "normal sized" americans in the group with the same need.

Curious what it is about the yoke that stands out as a piece to be removed? If it's color, could they make the same shirt with tonal yoke, or does that not clean the look up enough?

I like the idea of it being a little more minimal. Plus a little variety's good — I have a lot of IH westerns and the idea of mixing up the structure a bit is appealing to me.

OP might have diff reasons of course!

Idk why you wouldn't want the yokes on a western shirt tbh. It makes the shirt last longer and it looks cool.
