Anyone on here a part of their local IATSE? I work occasionally with 915 as a Stitcher/Dresser/Wardrobe Assistant in Nashville, and just curious if anyone else here did similar work.

I can't really allow myself to buy IH regularly - cash flow, financial responsibilities, consumerism etc. However, when I make a purchase, I get all there more excited waiting for the parcel to arrive. I came to enjoy waiting for DHL quite a bit - if it does not take too long though :).

Was having a convo with a friend the other and was curious what you all had to say. We were talking about how everyone seems to have a handful of websites that they check daily or weekly. Like their own little grounding bubble of sanity on the internet. What are yours?
Not including stuff that you have to check daily for work, like email or whatnot.
Mine would probably be:

FB Marketplace for deals/free stuff
a couple vinyl record trading forums
Depop/Grailed/eBay (just search every couple of days for the same handful of keywords)

I wake up in the morning and read Heather Cox Richardson’s blog on Substack. Then I usually glance at Facebook and instagram, realize they both suck, and head to the IH forum. I will usually search for IH on eBay, Grailed, depop, marrkt, poshmark and the real real, but don’t spend any other time on those sites. I used to check them daily, but my closet is now ludicrously stuffed with more things than I wear, which is problematic.

Anybody ever go down a rabbit hole on the forum and come across a banned member’s profile and start clicking through their posts trying to figure out what the hell happened?
Sometimes you’ll find a post from like 2012 and then the next reply is somebody else in 2024 and you’re just sitting there wondering what happened in those 12 years. I guess I’ll never know…

@northsouthdenimguy often the things they were banned for was cleaned up. Doesn’t make much sense to have the posts that pushed the buttons left for future discussion.

I was just mentioning on another forum the other day how much I appreciate this place because generally it’s positive and there’s not a lot of BS.
That said… I’m not gonna lie, part of me is still curious what exactly somebody had to say to get banned around here.
Then again… maybe I really don’t want to know.

I agree with @northsouthdenimguy this place is really positive in my view, you get the odd person in a new release thread just asking a bunch of questions and having a fit they don't like the answer, but apart from that...
On other forums I use there's people that get banned for scamming within their sales sections... That's probably the worst of it, even though they require tagged pictures with date+username to prevent it from happening, it still happens sadly.

Now that asparagus (the white one) became a controversial issue on the forum, I need to be more careful with my posts... well at least I can say I've never been an areshole (here). But I remember I did get a couple of admonishments with political comments...
