Hate to make another thread about me, but this is necessary.
As some of you know my break from the forum this summer was due to my need to recover from a mental health crisis that put me on a secure ward. That recovery only went ok up to a point. I’m currently suffering from a persistent serious depression and I am being admitted to a facility sometime this spring, probably for a month or two. Hopefully that will be what I need to beat this thing. Hurray for the Norwegian national health service though
So as of now I’m off the forum. I won’t be logging in again until after my admission. I’m too ill to function as a mod or even interact that much. I will return though!
I love this place and love the people here. I love IH and the people connected to it. @Giles @Alex and @goosehd will fill you all in on any changes caused by my withdrawal, and I hope to see you all here in a few months time when I’ve got this shitty disease beat.

I, too, am addicted to IH, so have read your many posts - your red bandana'd head shots are almost synonymous with IH, accordingly.
Always considered, knowledgeable, measured and articulately delivered.
Your output rivals Mr. Haraki's.
I remember one post in particular resonating, where a newby posited something along the lines of being amazed at the high and consistent quality of IH and how it may be all any one needs to buy. I remember your reserved reply in the affirmative. That turned me, I think, for good. There are only a few others that I have a few pieces of that compare - Real McCoys and a couple of other small Japanese houses; also leather, which Mr Haraki does not create.And, having renovated my share of houses, I lived vicariously through your chronicled effort - again, I can't believe that you had the capacity to share that. That was a full effort, and I know how it is. Heritage designated abodes…I think that mayhaps that was overload.
It was for me. So I stopped it.
You will recover.
You are too level-headed to fail.

Words are hard to find for the thoughts that I have…
I am proud of my friend and brother for seeking the help that he needs and applaud him for sharing with us. Sometimes you realize that you can’t tough things out and we all need help and support from time to time.
I am proud of my family, you the regulars of this forum, for sharing that love and support that he needs. Mental health is not an easy fix or a topic easily discussed. Your warmth and caring is the reason why he, I, and so many others frequent this great place.
Thank you for being a friend and a brother Reuben! Take care, time, and rest to find that stability to someday join us and I look forward to seeing you again.
