IRON HEART FORUM "HOMETOWN HEROES" PICTURE COMPETITION - SPRING 2022

Hey all,
I have been a lurker for about a year, and figure this is a good time to step out of the shadows! My family and I moved onto a 40 acre farmstead in central Pennsylvania, USA at the beginning of 2020 right before the world shut down(what luck). I have been demolishing/renovating the house, along with clearing and exploring the land since. This move lead to researching rugged, heavy duty clothing. I stumbled onto this forum and the Iron Heart rabbit hole. After 13 shirts, 4 pairs of jeans, a few knits the rest is history…
Anyway, my property is tucked in a valley with a half mile gravel driveway that has a bridge over a creek before it heads to my bank barn and up to the main house. This family portrait was taken on said bridge, with my 3 year old daughter Magnolia giving everyone the one finger salute. I am wearing my pair of 555xhs in the photo.

Thanks @endo and @sabergirl quick routine check in with neurologist about my CIDP which I am lucky to say is in remission, thanks to the fantastic care of the NHS. I've got lots of appreciation for all the medical professionals. Incidentally the doctor did ask how university teaching is going, but surprisingly kept quiet about the slubby type 2.

Yes, Munich has its „ugly“ corners! Nothing an IH sticker can’t fix though.
I went on an „IH ugly corner fix hunt“ and found one directly at the train station on the way home.
Isn’t there a certain aesthetic about ugly corners, though? What is the beautiful without the ugly?
We need more ugly! And most of all, Munich needs more ugly!

This is my fam in one of the coolest parts of Denver, the River North arts district. Lots of great street art here. Mom on my right, sister, two of her three kids (Sylvie, the eldest, was interviewing at the college she ended up attending), and hubby to my left. They were in town for our wedding, which took place at Garden of the Gods. Wearing 666 14oz OD. It strikes me how different they look now as the Atari fades have taken hold.

Great pictures everyone! I’m really enjoying this thread.
On the other side of town is another great park, even on an overcast and gloomy day. While this one is much smaller than yesterday, it has great views, trails, and main loop also stays plowed during the winter so it’s a great spot to walk while snow covers the hiking trails.
I took a photo at the Peace Pole that stands on one side of the parks garden. There are a bunch of flowers and grasses that are well maintained in their season. Even though we have a backwards ass town on most days. There is a nice reminder of something to agree on. With all the worlds events happening around us, passing it or being in the garden for a bit renews a little spirit that there are some great things in life. Iron Heart being the best right? Haha, anyways - hope you find a little peace today. [emoji1308]

Natural beauty.
This is one of my favorite places near "home" in the Eastern Sierras of California. The Pacific Crest Trail actually crosses over this right near where this was taken with a wobbly bridge my dog isn't so fond on. Maybe we will see her in the "family" post. The water is all snow melt, at the end of summer it's just a trickle usually (it is dry California after all) It is crazy sometimes to see how much the landscape is shaped by weather.

Throwback to my first Iron Heart denim experience, which was joining the ongoing 888 fat boy chocolate world tour. My wife is very horse passionate, and she “gave” me Firefly when her and I got serious. Firefly was my best friend for many years before passing away on her 15th birthday last May.
Still looking for another horse, still looking for the perfect hobby farm. All the while making great life memories and doing so in great Iron Heart clothes.
Minnesota is well known for their excellent park systems, and Three Rivers Park district has many horseback riding focused parks to choose from.
