On another note, I'm not sure if there is a function in the forum to search within threads? I wanted to search for the keyword "shrink" but don't seem to see a way to do so (other than searching the entire forum as a whole)

Hey guys!
I've been wearing this one a lot lately and so I have washed it cold twice recently and I put it on today and I was super surprised about the sleeve length. This was the first long sleeve I put on after some short sleeved summer shirts and maybe I didn't notice it so much before, but compared to other long sleeves, this ones got short sleeves. I compared it to 2 IH denim work shirts I have and its a full 3cm shorter.
Is that an issue for anyone else?

@BalticBob are they significantly shorter than the chart we published from the run you bought this from?

@Alex I bought this one in March 2023, so I not sure if there was a measurement update since then but the sleeve length is now 58cm and it should be, according to the chart in this thread, 62cm.
For comparison, washed in the same way, my IH-338-BLK sleeve length is 62cm and my IHSH-75 is 61,5cm but that was is quite a bit older than the 338 and the 21.

There have been several measurement updates since then, yes. I think at this point, after several washes too, it maybe too hard to say. Generally, howerver, the reason we publish specific charts run to run, product to product is to clearly inform people of size discrepancies, so its not surprising in and of itself that this shirt has longer/shorter sleeves than that shirt.

@Alex Yes I expected there were updates to measurements but I can't find the run specific ones anymore
I always wash it carefully and it's the only IH shirt I have which now has shorter sleeves but as you say maybe this is just an issue for this specific run and won't affect others. This was one of my favourite shirts, I'll have to get one with longer sleeves for next summer!
What's funny about this situation is that I had a Buzz Rickson's chambray where the sleeves became too short, and I replaced that shirt with this one and now it's sleeves are too short
Does chambray tend to shorten in length over time? Based on my IHSH-75 I would say demin does not but 2/2 chambray shirts have done this.

This was one of the first shirts I got from IH, seemed like a good time to get another one! I love this fabric, it’s my favorite weight, good all year round.

Got the shirt few days ago, it is awesome. But 2 buttons dropped almost right away, and a couple of others were too loose too, so I decided to re-sew all of those. Never had such experience with IH shirts before. Other than that the shirt is great.

Is it normal that the sleeve length appears to be pretty short compared to other shirts, or even compared to the Western shirt?
On the website, I noticed the Work shirt is 24" (60.8 cm) for a size M, versus 25.4" (64.4 cm) for the same 10oz chambray Western size M

@gyom85 It’s not unusual for there to be slight variations in certain measurements between individual items.
Our size charts are based on the average measurements of two pieces per size from our most recent batch. As a result, some natural variation can occur for example, we may have unknowingly measured two items with slightly shorter sleeves.
After checking our current Medium stock, we’ve found that some pieces have sleeve lengths of up to 24.7" but some are smaller and correlate with the chart of 24" which is the smallest available.
We’re always happy to select either the smallest or largest item from our available stock and confirm the exact measurements with you before shipping should you need us to.
