This is my first time posting so fit pics so don’t judge too hard. I had to set the timer up and use my front camera from a low angle…I guess this is the angle my children see 😄

The new flyers club Jacket is a M, fits really well and I took a picture of the lining which now has some insulation.

    • RE: Introduce Yourself Here

Hello, I thought about doing this for a while but never did. I am Tim and I'm South African but I have been living in Hamburg with my family for nearly 8 years. We moved here for work, not the weather, but the weather does give me a chance to wear some great stuff including many items from Iron Heart. I've been a fan of Iron Heart for a few years and I've slowly been building up a nice collection but I haven't really posted on the forum much, I've been lurking in the shadows until @goosehd convinced me to start posting. Please direct you complaints directly to @goosehd 🙂

Thanks for having me and please try not to make anything really cool for a while.

@Brandrea @Mizmazzle They were great, I emailed them and they spoke to their production and came back to me today with a shipping label and asked me to send it back to them to repair.

Hats off to Dehen, they did good. Their stuff is great and I'm happy to see they also fix defects without a question.

      Blanket Lined Duck Canvas Jacket

      Hello!

I have been a fan of the forum and IH for years and I have many great items which I am absolutely loving. I have waited in the shadows for a particular jacket for a few years but I have never seen it. I now feel compelled to ask about this jacket and I am really curious to know why IH doesn't do something like this.

The jacket I so love is a blanket lined duck canvas jacket (brown, black or blue). I had the original Carhartt Detroit but the fit is not on point for me. I currently own the Carhartt WIP version which is, in my opinion, a really nice interpretation of the original jacket. However, it's modernized for the masses and is somewhat 'streetware' which means it has some short comings.

I searched the forum but I could not find a topic like this so here it is:
Would IH ever make, or has IH ever made, a blanket lined duck canvas jacket with a corduroy collar. I do own the whipcord jacket which has the cord collar and ventile lining which absolutely rips (IHJ-61), but it's not warm enough for Hamburg.

Since you asked for my opinion, I would say that jacket (IHJ-61) without the button at the hem, and perhaps with a single slit breast pocket, made from the 17oz duck canvas and lined with the blanket lining from the 101J in both black and brown would mean I will likely never ever take it off ever again. I'll show myself out now.

      Thanks!

    • RE: IHSH-342-OD - Ultra Heavy Flannel Crazy Check Work Shirt - Navy Overdyed Black

This is the best flannel you have made. It's an overdyed version of the best colour way from the season (IMO), which I never bought because I'm too black metal to wear so many colours! It's so good and it looks different in different lights; my wife thinks I have two of these depending on how sunny it is.

I know this is a random post but this shirt needs some extra love; so happy these exist!

Maybe this has been suggested before, but what about a black version of the 101J-SR with the black 14oz sulfur dyed denim and a dark brown cord collar and a wool blend lining.

    • RE: IHSH-374-IND - 14oz Double Cloth Work Shirt - Indigo

I was just perusing the site, as one does, and noticed there are still all the sizes on this one. How!?

I saw this shirt at Burg and Schild in Berlin, and although I managed to get myself out of the store without it I didn't make the train ride home before placing the order. This is hands down tied for the best shirt I bought last year. What did it tie with you are thinking? It's the 342-OD; I wanted a overdyed flannel for a long time and literally rushed to the Hamburg store when you released those.

My advice: buy this shirt and give yourself a pat on the back for the excellent choice you made

    • RE: IHJ-124-BLK - 10oz Herringbone Work Jacket - Black

Looking at this seasons work jackets got me excited about wearing this again in the summer. I wore it a lot last summer, it's the perfect over a T-shirt and I had to give it a wash at the end of summer which actually showed a lot of the wear on this one. I was expecting the herringbone fabric to not show the wear much but your can definitely see it was worn. It's not that it has indigo like fades, but it certainly doesn't look new anymore.

Since I was doing this, I took some pictures of the varisty jacket too. Its a size small but fits almost as well as the M flyers club, just too slim to add a liner jacket but a thick flanel fits without a problem. I’m wearing the UES here but the UHF fits easily too.

@Kasi This is the Deviant, right? What are your thoughts on it now that you‘ve had it a little while? I‘m really interested in this one; I love how it‘s simplified compared to the normal D pocket jackets. How does this 40 fit compared to the 40 in the double rider from the flat head?

    • RE: Bob’s Garage Sale - Freenote Indigofera Dehen 1920

Indigofera Cooper Denim Jacket: asking 250€

This is a cool one, it’s a saw tooth type 2 jacket in a selvedge 10oz denim. It’s perfect for the summer months. Never worn, just hanging here like a super cool western dust catcher.

Size small, but definitely a medium.

      Pit to pit: 53cm
      Shoulders: 47cm
      Length excluding collar: 62,5cm
      Sleeve: 65cm

      Freenote Jepson Flannel: asking 200€

This is an 8oz Flannel with quite a loose weave and bone buttons. It’s really awesome but I just never have it on so it’s time to go. Great if you want a flannel for the warmer months or you live in a warmer climate.

Its a size small but is definitely a medium.

      Pit to pit: 55cm
      Shoulders: 44,5cm
      Length without Collar: 70cm
      Sleeve length: 63cm

      Freenote modern Western: Asking 200€

I bought this at the same time as the IHSH-338-BLK and prefer the fit on the IH piece. It is 11oz and feels heavier and softer than the IH. The snaps on this one, I’d almost keep it just to look at those.

Size small, fits more like a medium.

      Pit to Pit: 53cm
      Shoulders: 44cm
      Length without Collar: 68cm
      Sleeve: 63cm

    • RE: The Flat Head

Does anyone have the 10oz Flat Head denim work shirt? I really like some of the details on it but I have never seen one and I am curious to know how to stacks up to a 10 or 12 oz IH demin shirt.

I have the 12 oz work shirt from IH and I really like it, especially with the snaps, but I do have my eye on this Flat Head piece too. Can never have too many shirts, right? 🙂

    • RE: UES Clothing MFG .CO.

I've come here to rave about the UES flannels. I've had one this winter and man, it's so good. UHF's are of course amazing but they are quite dense and long where as the UES has a slightly slimmer fit and a bit of a looser weave I would say. I love it.

Not as warm as the UHF but I've already packed my UHF away and I still have the UES out, as I find it works better in these transitional months. It's so good I ordered another; the colours are a bit hit and miss I would say but I guess that means there is something for everyone.

    • RE: The Flat Head

@NickD Nice, thank you. I see your post up there and that is the 42? Fits you like a glove. I like the idea of a leather jacket, but only being able to wear a Tee under it limits it's use in my opinion. Normally if it's warm enough for only a Tee, then it's not really leather jacket weather...or is it always leather jacket weather!?

@Kasi thanks for the comments, I see most guys my height and weight wear a 40 but I really can't imagine it's going to loosen to the point where I can fit a shirt or a sweater underneath it.

Cross question to IH leather Jackets: Does a M IH leather = 40 in the Flat Head? Anyone able to comment on that?

    • RE: The Flat Head

Hey guys, looking for some tips here.

I have a Flat Head demin jacket (size 40), it’s their storm rider. I love it, but it’s quite fitted, and I can only really wear a T shirt or a thin pullover under it which is fine, the Jacket is pretty warm and the fit is what I’m looking for.

I was down town on Friday and tried the single riders jacket from the Flat Head because I’ve been eyeing it for a while (also size 40). It feels amazing but I was wearing a UHF that day and I couldn't even get my arm in the sleeve. I wear a medium in IH and the size 40 jacket was rather small. I got the UHF off and with only a Henley on it fit real noice, but with the zip up, I couldn’t reach the side pockets 😂

So, I am doing it right, the jacket is supposed to look amazing, but you can’t really move in it? Or, do you all generally size up in these? Will the hide soften over time to a degree where moving your arms in a functional way can be realized?

    • RE: IHW-13-BLK - Black Selvedge Melton Wool M65 Field Jacket

Hey! I was fortunate to pick this up on the second hand market. Damn, what a jacket!

One question, the little leather pull tab is missing on the zipper; obviously this doesn't really matter but it's convenient to have when pull the zipper with gloves on. Does anyone have a suggestion on alternatives or if one could get one of these?
