Is anyone here into comic books? I've been reading the classics lately: Watchmen, Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and so on. I just ordered the first volume of a collection of Eastman's and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

      Edit:
Alright! Now since @goosehd guided me here, my question seems off. What a cool thread!

      You're it.

Not at all, @RobeOfTheMagi . I read a lot of graphic novels, both classics and newer stuff.

Current favorites are Monstress and Saga. The Night Eaters was also great—same creators as Monstress, and the story is already complete if you don’t want to wait for more to come out.

Way to revive a dead thread @RobeOfTheMagi some classics you mentioned there!!

@sabergirl Haven’t read Monstress but loved escaping with Saga 10 years or so ago.

Definitely a fan of a good amount of marvel and dc runs but found myself drawn to some of the smaller labels that had a lot easier of an entry point like Saga. Other favorites that come to mind that fit this description; Chew, Lock & Key, and anything Robert Kirkman - specifically Invincible

            Fun fact:

I've ordered my copy of Watchmen from a platform that sells used books. It was quite inexpensive since it was supposed to have minor flaws. When I received it, I discovered a random sticker inside the book, presumably covering some daub. After removing the sticker I found the signature of Dave Gibbons beneath it :).

Right? Who would have thought a signed book was cheaper than a regular one. Only the remains of the sicker is a bit annoying.

Love comics. Read them and collected a bunch when I was a kid, and fell out of it as I got older. Got briefly back into them when they revamped the New 52 stuff 15 years ago or so? got really into the newer Action comics superman. Superman was always a favorite of mine as a kid. I love the newer All Star Superman, and the Superman for All Seasons from the late 90's.

There's a used comic shop (actually a few) not too far from me, and I'm thinking of picking up a few series of graphic novels from stuff that I've heard about but never really got into reading. Saga, Y the Last Man, 100 Bullets. Still have a few classics in an old box in the basement that I may read again.

Have a mad old collection of comics. A lot of them are still sat in the loft at my ex's home. Mostly Batman (including all issues of The Legends of the Dark Knight), Groo The Wanderer, the Marvel run of 'Civil War' untold amounts of graphic novels from a leather-bound Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns + sequel, Watchmen, From Hell, countless Batman (again), X-Men, Superman, Spiderman, Wolverine. Think I still have issue one of Witchblade too. I actually need to get hold of them all.

Not collected for a long time. Went digital for a while (The Walking Dead, 100 Bullets, Sandman etc). Want to get back to Usagi Yojimbo (have a lot of the collected editions but not from past 5+ years). Also the new run of Absolute Batman looks incredible.

I got a bunch of old comics graded a few years ago, used to be a hobby of mine before CGC had a bunch of drama after Covid… reminds me I should log on their forum and see what’s new!

Have you guys read Michael Turners Witchblade ? Or his Fathom? Give it a try, but it should be from the Turner era pre 2008.

He has sadly passed at a young age due to cancer but he was hands down the best artist out there. He did a lot of cover art for all the big names too. I'd buy the comic just for his art...highly recommend it!
