IHSH-208-IND - Indigo Kersey Western Shirt

@cyclops it's heavy. I'd wager to say it's heavier than a UHF. Unbrushed fabric of course. It drapes wonderfully. I have a gray jersey but it's to big so I don't wear it often. That's in the front of my mind ordering this one.

@cyclops they feel similar heavy. Let met put it this way, my wife started wearing my kerseys when it‘s cold. She used to steal my UHFs because they are like a „blanket“ and now prefers the kerseys.

@don_pipone haha awesome. Yeah i was thinking and measuring last night and was surprised to see ounce wise it sounded thicker than the UHF, so was thinking whether its more outer shirt vs shirt if you know what i mean. Looking forward to seeing it and handling it! Thanks guys

It is really hard to explain the feel of the Kersey. It’s warm, but very breathable. It’s dense but never feels restrictive. It has weight but I don’t think it feels as thick as UHF. It’s a beautiful shirt to wear. I ended up sizing down as I do like a more tailored fit. Regular size fitted well, but the size down looked almost individually tailored, so I went with that. I’ve worn it with a Thermal Waffle underneath and it’s lovely and warm. Wearing it today, open with a t shirt it’s comfortable in much warmer weather. I don’t know what witchcraft is going involved in creating this fabric, but I love it.

@Ral1121 It is something that has been suggested numerous times over the years and at some point, may come to fruition. There is only so much time available in the factories and it’s hard to balance the wants versus needs of what is possible.
Maybe someday…

Personally, I feel like the material is a little too stretchy and flowy for pockets. I think it needs a bit more structure, but I’m sure Iron Heart could dial it in and make it work if they wanted to.

@northsouthdenimguy valid point. I can imagine they would wear out and become baggy quite quickly.

@samo it drapes well and needs to use your body. If you get it to big it hangs and doesn't look as good. I've got a gray kersey that is to big and it just "hangs" on a hanger lol

@don_pipone & @CosmoSix5 this must be a unique fabric because it’s already more narrow in the waist and opening and more tapered from the chest measurement than any other iron heart shirt I’m aware of. For example, most size L with a 22.3 chest would be + or - 21.5 waist and 21.5 opening and this one is 20.8 waist and 21 opening. Sizing down to M puts you at 20.4 waist and 20.6 opening. I’m nervous about going that slim, but I may have to defer to you guys since you already have the shirt.

@northsouthdenimguy Solid point, I think the chest may be fine but yeah the lower pockets would probably look pretty bad in time.
