IHSB-BIGBUCK-NAT - Deerskin Western Shirt 'The Big Buck' - Natural

@blue2gnt not ideal, but I’ve got this in olive and there’s a discrepancy in pocket spacing. Due to my personal preference, I only wear it unsnapped and there’s not even a hint of pocket spacing discrepancy when it’s unsnapped. It’s a compliment magnet and I expect this natural version will be as well.

Picked up a black from the last drop. Absolutely love the feel and fit.
When these dropped, I told myself "just don't buy one....they'll sell out quickly and then the option will be gone" so thats what I did. Then they sold out...besides, I really didnt want to spend another $1500, so I got what I was hoping for.
Then I happened to notice today it didnt say "sold out"....someone must have returned one and it was in my size, because there it was...staring me in the face. I bought it....and I can't wait till it shows up. -
@Animal-Chin Was it XXL? I canceled my order. Have too much stuff right now.
-
@blue2gnt I just got mine today and mine has the same issue. Did you reach out to them.

Yes I did - I haven't received mine yet though
-
Now y'all got me sweatin' my mail tomorrow...
-
@blue2gnt so they let you know before they sent it. To inquire weither you still wanted it? I re read your post I missed that part....
-
Ouch !! Hopefully Iron Heart improves the quality control
are you keeping it? -
Due to the length of time these took to arrive, and the fact we received most of them a couple of hours pre launch, we decided to reach out to every customer who hadnt had a big buck before, with a description and pictures of anything we thought may be an issue. If anyone has any issues at all, or was not reached out to, please send me an email - Adam.crawshaw@ironheart.co.uk or a forum DM

Respectfully, given the price point of these shirts and the brands reputation for quality/attention to detail, these asymmetric pockets are unforgivable imo.
I can understand how inconsistencies in the hides/scarring could be spun as a unique quirk of the product, but this is clearly a construction error that appears to be consistent across the entire batch (it's even off in the product photo which was probably the best of the bunch).
I hope this gets taken as constructive criticism that it is intended to be.
-
It is unforgivable. But they were made and they could not be remade, and we may never make them again, because even at this price point we make virtually no margin on them (which is why we no longer offer them to retailers as we made a loss on each one we sold at wholesale), so we thought it better to offer them to people rather than just dump them.
Dumping them would certainly have given us way less grief.....

I flagged the pocket issue with my Olive Big Buck back in 2025. They went and checked all the stock left in my size, and they all had similarly poor placement. I was assured that once I start wearing it I wouldn’t notice. I love Olivia, but can’t say I don’t notice….

To reiterate and add further to what Giles and I have said above. The plan was to reach out to every customer with images of the front, back and any scarring on the hides during the order process of this.
Unfortunately, a few people were not contacte despite clear instruction, and that is on us. We will be reaching out to the customers who weren't contacted prior to shipping today, and anyone who was contacted, but who feels disappointed, please reach out to me directly.
We always try to do what is right by the customer, always. Sometimes, we might not always get it 100% right, but we will always try to make it right

You are (anyone is) welcome to criticise us, anytime, but I find it a little insulting that after buying from us for so long you think we would deliberately try and mislead people like you insinuate here.
-
Well, that was short lived excitement. Tyler from Iron Heart reached out via email to let me know that the shirt I had ordered had the same production flaws. Some missed stitching and the mis aligned pockets. It was really the pockets that cemented my decision to cancel the order. Anyone who doesn't have a problem with this sort of thing can expect a XXXL to be available soon. Given that Iron Heart didn't produce these shirts and the past runs (including the black one I just received recently) didn't have these issues, you can't blame Iron Heart for this problem. Im sure this isn't an enjoyable situation for Iron Heart and I would venture to say you won't see another run of these in the future. I just don't think Iron Heart would risk it.
-
@Alex apologies if I wasn't clear in my words, but I never meant to insinuate that you were trying to deceive anyone.
My reference to product photo was intended to illustrate my point that this issue with the pockets seems to be consistent across this run, rather than one off QC misses.
I acknowledge Giles' points posted above, and appreciate that these hiccups in manufacturing must be extremely frustrating for everyone involved but I just wanted to give my honest opinion as somebody that respects what you guys do and the products you help to create.
In 3/4 years on this forum and after 1000 posts I can only recall expressing anything less than unbridled positivity on 2 occasions, so I would have hoped my feedback would have been taken with better intentions.

@hugothecowboy of coarse I am... this is an incredible piece... regardless of pockets not being "perfect". In the description they mentioned that there would be some scars on the piece from the life of the buck (God knows I have plenty).... and mine have a few. I am.just grateful to have this masterpiece... and I cant imagine the time and effort that went into creating this. I was taken back by the placement of the pockets... which orginally I didn't notice untill the post.... but in the end it adds to the appeal in some way. Thank you Iron Heart team and I apologize any confusion I might have created. I am grateful for everything you do and offer... and feel extremely blessed to have this work horse of a shirt!!!!
-
So this one is typical? Just trying to work through this.

If we were to all pause and breathe for a moment and look at all past Big Buck photos and our own products you would see that this is uniform, I have measured from edge of pocket to centerline of buttons on several of my Simmons products and they are consistent with minimal deviation from edge of pocket to center of button.
I can understand how this looks to all visually but I presume the maker had a choice to offset pockets for aesthetics or to utilize dimensions for uniformity across the product line.
Personally I am perfectly fine with the pockets being established from center of buttons,
-
Pockets displaced? What the hell. My face is not symmetrical too.
The best shirt I've ever seen. Each one can have its own opinion for sure!
By the way, the Buttons are exactly under the edges of front yokes.
