Picked up a black from the last drop. Absolutely love the feel and fit.
When these dropped, I told myself "just don't buy one....they'll sell out quickly and then the option will be gone" so thats what I did. Then they sold out...besides, I really didnt want to spend another $1500, so I got what I was hoping for.
Then I happened to notice today it didnt say "sold out"....someone must have returned one and it was in my size, because there it was...staring me in the face. I bought it....and I can't wait till it shows up.

@FlavourFade Looks great! I'd love it if SB would offer to fix it....I'm just waiting to hear if they will. James f/IH has reached out to them twice with no response yet. Thats what I find strange....I don't want to return the shirt. I just want to see if this hole I something that can be addressed.

@concretor Thats what I thought as well, but honestly wasn't sure what the cut off for "small imperfections" was. Like I said, Iron Heart has been great with their response, and I think offering a full refund is top notch. Im just curious what Simmons Bilt will say in response. It's strange that he has reached out twice and no reply either way. You figure if a company like Iron Heart reaches out with a concern, they would be all over it.
We shall see. @goosehd Interesting video! -

@goosehd I guess with the imperfections, I was more thinking of scarring imperfections in the hide....the actual hole threw me. Like I said, Im torn (pardon the pun!). I love the shirt, just wanted to reach out to the community and get your thoughts and if anyone else had a shirt with a similar defect and how it faired over time. Thats why this forum exists, right? I greatly appreciate your input and will will keep you updated!

RE: IHSB-BIGBUCK-BLK - Black Deerskin Western Shirt - The Big Buckposted in Shirting
I'm just going to ask some advice here because I'm really torn about what to do here. I got my Big Buck a few weeks back and with it being so warm here in the North East U.S., there isn't a call to wear this until it cools off this fall. That said, I took it out and tried it on again the other day and felt that on the left side of the shirt, the hide felt much thinner than the right. That is to be expected when dealing with different parts of the animal, so I wasn't too stressed about it. But I did hold it up to the light to see the difference and I discovered that there was a hole in it. I contacted the staff at IH and they have been great. I spoke to James, who offered to send me a free return shipping label and full refund or if I wanted, he would reach out to Simmons Bilt to see if they would be open to a repair order. Ive yet to hear back, but just wanted to hear from some of you guys who have maybe had a similar defect and how you dealt with it. I really don't want to return the shirt since you never know if IH will even make another run of them, but also don't feel like I should just be happy with a shirt that, quite frankly, shouldn't have made it past quality control. Or at least that panel of hide. Thanks in advance. -For reference, the cut is about 1/4" long.

RE: IHSB-BIGBUCK-NAT - Deerskin Western Shirt 'The Big Buck' - Naturalposted in Shirting
Well, that was short lived excitement. Tyler from Iron Heart reached out via email to let me know that the shirt I had ordered had the same production flaws. Some missed stitching and the mis aligned pockets. It was really the pockets that cemented my decision to cancel the order. Anyone who doesn't have a problem with this sort of thing can expect a XXXL to be available soon. Given that Iron Heart didn't produce these shirts and the past runs (including the black one I just received recently) didn't have these issues, you can't blame Iron Heart for this problem. Im sure this isn't an enjoyable situation for Iron Heart and I would venture to say you won't see another run of these in the future. I just don't think Iron Heart would risk it.

Im really torn on this. The sizing in the chest and shoulders is throwing me. I guess my question would be....having never owned a shirt like this.....is, would you guys who own one consider it a next to the skin layer just over a t-shirt or more of a layering piece? Also, I read the post someone put up about shrinking, but as far as I can tell, thats because of water. Barring any water or wearing in the rain, should I expect this shirt to stretch a litttle, shrink a little or keep pretty much its same measurements? Thanks!
