@Blue-Viking none. I can’t stand wearing wet denim…they really need to be shrunk to embed the stitches. They will be tight for a day, two, or maybe a few, but stretch back out with time and wear. You will gain the most in the waist, a little in the thighs, but everything lost in the length is gone.

@Blue-Viking , if they fit and are comfortable now, they'll stretch back out to the pre shrink/wash sizing.

Hey guys! Question for those who've got a lot of wears in these and in 888's in general... I have an issue (I think) due my to relatively small waist size compared to my butt/thigh size. Whenever I sit, bend or squat at all, the back of the waist band comes away from my body and traps my shirt in that gap when I stand back up. It also happens when I wear a belt as tight as it can go. Is this something that happens to any of you? And if so, did it go away as the denim broke in and conformed to your body? I've heard this might just be a thing with high rise jeans, so I'm curious what your guys experience has been. Thanks!

14 days of wear, creases starting to form and a small amount of fade. Trying to hit at least 10000 steps a day and will continue to wear everyday until I can’t take the heat anymore.

The temperature of the water DOES NOT make much difference to shrinkage. Agitation does. The reason a hot wash shrinks stuff more than a cold wash is that a hot wash normally has a longer more aggressive wash-cycle, hence the misunderstanding....

Is it fair to say agitating unsaforized jeans at home is a way of somewhat sanforizing them? I'm sure not to the same extent the actual process agitates them.

No, it shrinks them.
Sanforisation is completely different thing.

@Giles I have no idea how you knew about all this stuff back in the early days, Giles... It's more available information online now (with much thanks to the forum) but still everyday is a school day for me!

Trying to wrap my head around best practices for the initial shrink with these.
Is it best to hot soak and then toss in the washer (inside out)? Or is a soak with hand agitation sufficient?
Also, I’ve seen mention of wearing them to STF. Some neutral opinions on it, some advice to do it if there is concern about shrinking, and some advice not to do it due to it being unnecessary/a hassle and causing knee bags from wearing while wet - is there a consensus?

The UHR is loomstate. No processes have been performed on it. This means that the constructional stitching is not embedded into the fabric and can pop out. In addition the fabric is so dry and stiff that creases will be very sharp and abrasive and can tear.
Soaking AND an initial wash are necessary to embed the stitching and finesse the fabric. Shrinking is a by product of this.
Hot soak and wash to embed the stitches and failure to follow those instructions can lead to premature failures.

@goosehd I saw that, got it. So if I’m reading between the lines correctly— Skip the wearing while soaking, just hot soak then toss in the washer for the agitation.

@Tastefulgent try these steps as per here
