@Stringthing75 sliding can give the runner a bit of a lunge forward advantage to beating the throw if it a forced out. But if a tag is required for the out, a slide gives even greater advantage to the defensive player missing the tag if the slide can squeeze past or under the tag.
Furthermore, if it’s a tagged out a runner can run right into the defensive player making the tag and try and knock the ball loose so that the defensive player drops the ball and create a positive play for the runner.

@Mizmazzle right, makes sense. I remember Buster Posey taking a major injury years ago with a home plate collision. Guess that's a similar thing, trying to force it loose?
Brutal anyhow. But last night seemed to me to be a classic game. For hardcore fans of either of those teams, it must have been a true nail biter. -
Crazy good series and game, extra innings game 7 nail bitter for sure. Could’ve went either way, that bat doest break prob a base hit and tie it up but that the way she goes. as a giants fan was lowkey rooting for blue jays. But am happy for all my dodger fan homies, back to back World Series is impressive.

Lifelong LA resident and dodger fan here. I was FLIPPING out last night. Sweetest championship of the last 3. Back to back champs baby

I’m heartbroken. I have been a jays fan since before they won in the 90’s. it’s crushing but they played a hell of a series.

This might be the best post-game interview ever
