I used him as an info source when looking for a new leather jacket, but when he started going into who should and shouldn’t be wearing certain styles he totally lost me forever. It came off as “I’m the ultimate authority for everyone about everything,” and to me, that attitude means I shouldn’t trust you about anything.
It’s like the guys at work who tell me how long they’ve been doing this job within 30 seconds of meeting me. I immediately don’t trust you.
-
@ZackB I note a man of sophistication in that Saints pic! Are you a New Orleans resident?
-
@StarsSuck I am not, I’m from Alabama so no NFL team but my best friend is from New Orleans, what about you?
-
@ZackB sadly no. If my heart has a home though, that's the place. I'm down there several times a year and have been to quite a few Saints games. I'm just outside Philly in the middle of a deep freeze.
-
Welcome to Hawaii!
This the whole time I'm here:

-
@mclaincausey absolute garbage
-
@mclaincausey Bummer. Same thing happened to me when I visited Ko Samui; was there for 4 days and experienced nothing weather-wise besides torrential rain and cold winds. At least the hotel was luxurious and had amazing food, hope the same goes for you.

@goosehd said in Random Rants:
If you’re trying to get me to open a spam email, you might want to think of a better name
On the contrary, these sorts of scams rely on the recipient of the scam email being a complete moron. They do better business when their emails are only opened and acted upon by complete idiots, rather than make things too convincing and end up wasting time on sophisticated marks who will figure out something is wrong later down the line.
-
@mclaincausey downvote (for the weather, not the location)

Here’s one to share. I’ve recently got back into G-Shocks and joined the appropriate subreddit. Came across this thread:
should I return my G-Shock because Apple Watch?My reply:

I do really appreciate what the Apple does but I think I’m just a bit fed up ATM.

-
Hate the idea of an Apple watch. I look at my phone more often than I'd prefer anyway. Plus they are ugly as fuck.
-
@NickD I've had one since they came out in 2015. It took this long to come to that realization. Allso, I'm a bit cranky today so grain of salt

-
I sympathize with the sentiment, but as soon as someone starts talking about alphas and betas I lose interest altogether.
I haven’t ever been tempted to add MORE smart devices into my life. The phone already sucks so much time out of my life and ushers in more surveillance and consumerism.
Anyhoo—I’m all for a gshock. I don’t love that a lot of the new ones are integrating so many smart features and necessitating the app to do what they do.
-
@AdamJ I don't believe this!
-
@sabergirl The metal square I got connects to my phone and that part of it is awful. It won't sync automatically as it should and there isn't much use in setting reminders and such. The good thing is you can delete pairing and it works just like a normal G-shock and updates time each night from Multiband antennas.
Oh and the "Beta Male" comment was not to throw shade, only to highlight the subservient relationship one inevitably has with the watch. This is my experience after 11 years of owning one. -
Here’s a podcast about alpha-beta, the debunked theory of dominant wolves, and how it lives on for men. Fascinating stuff: https://www.sciencefriday.com/segments/alpha-wolf-myth/
-
@sabergirl this is great and my own mini rant…most (if not all) of the world’s problems could be solved if men could figure their shit out. And soon.
-
Glad to have inadvertently given you peeps something to rant about haha.
