Samurai Jeans

@will6er No I don't think so, but I'm also not sure about what you're referring to. These are the rain ones. From their website:
"Murasame literally means "village rain", but the term is used to refer to a rainstorm that arrives suddenly and dies down just a quickly, only to rise up again in wild swings of weather. The dark color of these jeans is reminiscent of these stormy skies, the slubby whites and blues coming and going like in a storm, and the strong and uneven texture in this fabric really helps express the feeling of Murasame.
The blackish color is created by combining indigo with other dyes and can only be produced by a very limited number of dyeing factories. Because the threads are rope dyed, this fabric will fade beautifully, just like regular denim.
The shape is based on the S3000VXII, which has a slightly generous rise and thigh width, and the rough feel of this fabric really makes for a nice, comfortable texture when worn against the skin." -
@IrishHeart I haven't got a lot of wear out of them yet. They have a more rugged feel than the IH chinos I have and are a bit neppy, for lack of a better word. Nice weight, nice cut. I have the slim-straight version by the way. but they feel looser than my 666 for example. Sulphur-dyed, so should fade with wear. Can't really tell you more at this point, I'm afraid.

@Tago-Mago thanks for the feedback, it’s helpful.

Promised fit pic on the S3000XX17oz-SDS

-
Heck yeah

-
@Kasi How are you finding the fatigues? I'm going to go to Rivet & Hide to get a pair of the olives ones I think. Measurements look perfect and love that they're a bit heavier than other brands

Picked up a pair of black heavyweight Baker pants today, I’ve had Olive ones for a while and love them. The word on the street is these are probably going to be discontinued after this run… so get them while you can.
-
@northsouthdenimguy Anyway know how they stack up fabric wise vs Orslow
-
Night and day difference. The heavyweight ones are in all class by themselves. It’s like comparing 13oz denim to 25oz.
-
I have a pair of both the Orslow and the Samurai in olive. Fabric is soft and pliable with the Orslows but thick and rigid on the Sammies.
Colour is much better on the Orslow but the Samurai ones are super heavy duty. Both different enough to be good purchases in their own right
-
I do agree with this. I also have a few pairs of Orslow, which are really warm weather pants. The fabric is just completely different. There’s really no comparison not saying one’s better than the other just completely different product.
-
@will6er I’ve got both. As others have said they are completely different things. The styles have some similarities but otherwise it’s like comparing sweatpants to 21oz jeans - they’re both great in their own ways.
