      The first thought that jumped to mind, given the probable parties in Japan and the UK for our 25th anniversary party, was to assess customer loyalty over 2025 (and some of 2026) and then reward with some sort of travel vouchers to be used to attend one of the big events, or to spend locally when in attendence, hopefully meaning more people may be able to make these events that have in the past.

      Really early days of spitballing here, but hoping this can be a good outlet for us all to share some ideas

          I think loyalty items would be great. Like a T-Shirt with a certain print for example that is not available to buy, you only get it having spent a certain amount. Or a bandana… coffee mugs

              Spitballing but...

              1. an exclusive patch, maybe? But then you've got to get the thing produced...

              2. Early/priority access to shop for seasonal drops? Risks upsetting casual customers and may narrow the breadth of IH's customer base over time.

              3. Exclusive items? Maybe access to the Re:Love creations is limited. Or an annual exclusive T-shirt print. Or something that fits the brand, like a denim tool-roller made from excess fabric.

              4. An annual forum-member's lookbook sent out at around Xmas? Less a reward for custom, I guess. Would foster community, obviously you'd have to get consent from the people featured, but you've got all the pictures you'd need on the WAYWT thread.

              5. Custom embroidery options available at checkout?

              6. More input into products... I'm thinking like the ability to vote between T-shirt print options for the next summer, different leather patch designs, etc, before the production run is kicked off?

                On point 2:

                Advanced access to product launches was another idea i was going to float, but i worried that it may come across as disengenious to both make all these changes to help more products be in stock, for longer, then at the same time allow some people access to it before others

                  @Alex not trying to sound like a kiss ass here, but as a customer from the US...i'll just say that ya'll covering tariff BS and duties costs is thanks enough for my loyalty!

                  Also, any extra goodies for nudging me to Japan for the next party only motivates me all the more to make that trip!

                          @Alex Ha! It's a slow Friday afternoon here!

                          1. A point system? Purchases earn points. These can be saved and then redeemed for vouchers OR spent in an area of the store for items (not necessarily clothing related) that can only be redeemed for points. Perhaps you guys collab with someone making high-quality laminate prints to do a 1-250/250 run of art for the wall, with the design by Haraki or something. The vouchers option would fulfil the same function as the previous, discretionary loyalty discount, but be more predictable (because vouchers have a set points-value), and possibly affect the bottom line less as and when people decide they'd like to save up for an item.

                              I think @EdH and @Chap both have great ideas, I dont think you necessarily need to do early access, as much as I would love that if I was on the list, it might rub some people the wrong way given that people already get really frustrated by not getting it when they have a fair chance.

                              I see some of these things from the days past that have been released like rugs, pillows, calendars or other non-clothing related items, doing something like that each year for the loyalty list would be pretty cool, I would assume its the people on the loyalty list who would be proudly displaying those things (i know i would)

                                1. Every £ spent earns a ticket to a lottery. At the end of the year, you run the lottery and the jackpot winner gets their mortgage paid off by Giles personally. Encourages a gambler's mentality among customers, leading to (even more) compulsive spending on IH. 😇

                                  Yeah, this sort of thing could go into a points-redeemable store too.

                                  To my mind, points are fairer than a discretionary "you're more/less loyal" judgment that gates access to the exclusive stuff. What if nothing appealed to someone from the latest seasonal collection(s), or they've already got a full wardrobe and nothing needs replacing yet?

                                  Bonus points could also be awarded for introducing someone who makes a qualifying purchase, being active on the forums (up to a point, or people will try to game it with spam), birthday rewards, etc.

                                    Personally, I don’t wish for y’all to have anything too complex to keep track of.

                                    Of course, I won’t really miss the loyalty vouchers, either—having ashamedly only ever had one after all these years.

                                      I have no complaints. Really to be honest the company has done me more favours. Base on my trust.
                                      Even if the loyalty vouchers permanently stops.

                                        The loyalty vouchers were nice. Not only a nice gesture, but actually meaningful and useful! So many merchants do these lame promos but are basically worthless or just junk.
                                        That said, I love all the ideas and the thought of something else coming. You guys really can’t do wrong in my eyes. And that’s coming from a guy who sees and pays the prices in Canadian dollars! Yikes, 😀

                                          True, because when you guys clear out IHUK of [insert item] and there is still stock in countless US stores, UK buyers are essentially f’d, because it doesn’t work the other way around.

                                          Also, @Alex It’s obviously an important metric for the company, but could you not call it what it is, which is “Customer Spending”, which is not necessarily ‘loyalty’?

                                            Exclusive products for the super fans could be worth considering. The sort of things that only the most dedicated of IH fan might want, so not the early access stuff. I am unlikely to make the cut any time soon, mostly because everything I want sells out quicker than I manage to buy it.

                                            Like the idea of pillow cases, or collars for pets, something a bit off brand so not likely to appeal to the masses but that would for those who love it all.

                                            I love the idea of ordering a jacket and getting a collar for the dog in the same fabric that gets to fade at the same time.

                                            Things made with the ends of the rolls, leftovers and offcuts. Nothing general customers will feel hard done by missing out on, but little bits of joy for the die hards.

                                            N1 deck slippers, UHF boxers, discounted snap upgrades, or a special top button.

                                            The key thing is to work out if you want to encourage the loyalty, or reward it.

                                            Tiers or surprises.

                                            Broken old houses, boring Scottish whisky, weird Japanese denim, all French wine, sad American music, wool socks in summer.
