EDC - What's In Your Pockets?
-
Just grabbed a SureFire 9p for $10 today. Gonna put that into the edc bag rotation.
-
I use this Defy EDC pouch to carry my stuff.

-
@chrisjohnnick I like the Malkoff led lamp assemblies for those. I have one for my 9Z.
-
My dudes…. I gave in and am trying out the man purse.
Too much in my pockets…although this is some weird kinda sick freedom. It’s still freedom.

Need to have all this stuff for any given moment so I’m packing it all into a black leather bag and calling it a day. Now when I lose shit I lose everything at once.
-
I'm carrying a lot of things in my shirt pocket these days for for work. A pen, pencil, sharpie, highlighter, and now finally decided I needed to get a pen flashlight. I usually have a larger Sure Fire in my bag, but I grabbed a Streamlight Stylus Pro in black for the pocket since I regularly need it when I'm on the fly and away from my desk.
Finally coming to terms that I may actually need a pocket protector. Open to recommendations!

Night shift on an Iron Ore Mine, EDC.

-
@Aussie-Ben What kind of Ore are you mining? Deep or surface?
I grew up in and around coal mines which were mainly deep mines when young and transitioned to surface mines as I got older. My uncle worked around mines most of his life.
-
@goosehd whoa yeah, you wouldn’t get me underground. No thank you. Hats off to ya mate.
I could imagine it’s hard work being down there chasing coal
I’m above ground in mechanical maintenance. Iron Ore is what they dig up.
It’s only just starting to heat up. Still 30°c at midnight though. But the 45 - 48 degree days are inbound soon. -
@Aussie-Ben …not for me either. One good advice from my Uncle was don’t get into mining. Sad fact that every year I was in school, somebody’s dad, uncle, or brother was killed in a mine related accident. Late 70’s and early 80’s. Convince you pretty quick that it was or wasn’t something you wanted to get into.
-
Things got quite a bit safer when they started surface mining. The other issue is that companies were horrible at paying employees…pay was great when you got paid…then they would close up the office and disappear one night. Some guys went without pay for weeks while being promised that pay was coming tomorrow…and then it didn’t.
Happened to my Uncle more times than I can count…
Hopefully mining is a bit better where you’re at! It’s a damn good job…but some shady practices around Virginia and West Virginia.
-
@goosehd That paints a pretty tough life of being a miner.
The industry does have a very dark past -
