Anyone that have experience of shorten/hemming a pair of 555..? Because of the tapered leg. Do the end hem after shortened make them tiny wider or “much” wider?

I’m struggling on what cut I want for the XHSib return… the 555 or the 666🫣

I would probably be a size 34 in both options IF they haven’t changed a ton on the new upcoming batch. And I would need them shorten to 34”.

        Anyone with experience from this?😊

@mecken88. If you are planning to hem at 34 inches the difference in hem width will be very small.

@mecken88 I shorten all my 555s to 32.5 and I'm totally happy with them.

@Jett129 sounds great! In size 34 the hem is 8” =20,32cm.

And I have a pair of old Wrangler Cowboy cut with a hem of 20,5cm that works great for me an engineers.
My current pair I’m rockin, have a hem of 8,85”=22,5cm, that on the larger side for me. I prefer a hem closer to 8”. Smaller is not and option, but ever so slightly is probably okey too.

So I’m trying to figure out where my range of okey lays. So 22,5cm is too big. 20,5cm is on the smallest side.
That’s why I was curious if a pair of 555 is shorted 2” to a 34” leg. If the hem would widen, and if so, how much🤔

Otherwise 666 is on my mind, those have a hem of 8,4” in size 34 on the last batch. But have a significant lower rise in the top block.
So I’m really struggling to figure out if the 555 or the 666 is the option for me😊🤷‍♂️

@mecken88 Maybe if someone at IHUK could turn up/cuff a pair of 555s 2 inches and re-measure the hem for you,you would then have a better idea as to what your options are. Sorry for making the extra work for you guys.

@mecken88 all my 555s are 36 and hemmed to 30.5 because I don't really cuff or do a small cuff, the hem is about 8-8.25" and looks great, engineers work fine with them !

on the topic of hemming, is it advisable that i should keep the cut off pieces for future repairs? instead of getting rid of them.

Primary purpose of off-cuts is protecting carbon forks from being scratched by protruding bolts.

It seems unorthodox, but I guess they could also be used for repairs.
