Pats win again

@Oaktavia lmao they’re throw backs bro!

@Jett129 that could be one hell of a battle. I really think the next few games could be highly developmental for the Broncos offense.
We’re getting into the part of the season where the “healthy” factor is going to be key. Surtain went out with a shoulder injury at halftime. Hope it’s not too serious.
Speaking of injuries…poor dude Skattebo…kid was on his way to a legendary rookie year. Heart goes out to that kid.

The entire mascot New Era line is neat and wholesome
TOTALLY… crossing sport streams here but sharing my Bruins one

@flannel-slut right on, that one is cool. I definitely am more drawn towards animal mascots. The Steelers mascot hat is creepy.

Another cardiac win for the Donks!
...but man, it is entirely frustrating to watch the Broncos offense. Effective rushing abandoned early, as usual. Dobbins, a top 3 rusher in the league going into the game, was averaging 6 YPC and only had a single rush in the first half outside of the opening drive. And Payton is so damn stubborn running screens. If you can't execute over the middle, and you don't maintain a credible running threat (which also sets up play action), defenses (especially that of the Texans) can cheat outside and render your screens useless. Payton moved from what was working and didn't even exploit it to set up play action, and instead went straight into screens without establishing credibility over the middle to bring defenders inside to open up screens. The defense was just licking its chops knowing what was coming. Got into the red zone exactly once the entire game, where the Texans did so 3 times with a backup QB. Understanding this was against an elite defense, the Broncos got away with poor scheming and execution. It feels like every play is either a screen or a deep route, and I think Payton is too arrogant to adjust his scheme and play calling to his players and opponents. Sure, there are executional issues, but many of those are due to things like expecting Evan Ingram to block like an all-pro OL. The player skills have to match the scheme, and he doesn't seem to understand that.
On the other side of the ball, it's absolutely wild that a defense that was forced onto the field that much performed so well. Even without Stroud, 3/17 on 3rd down is amazing.
Some great punts, but clearly some special teams issues to address as well. Really lucky to come away with so many of these close ones, and it's not sustainable. There needs to be some recalibration of the offense and special teams and perhaps some personnel changes if this team is going to make some noise in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, a very surprising 7-2!

@dugafola I’m a Chiefs fan as well, but for starters I couldn’t believe they were favored on the road in Buffalo, and I was saying all week who have they beaten so far? Washington with Marcus Mariotta,Giants with Russel Wilson,Raiders with Gino Smith, the Ravens when they had a bad day,Detroit who had some injuries. Everyone was saying how they’re the most complete team, they have all their weapons back healthy. Doesn’t matter how many weapons you have if you can’t pass protect, and run block. Mahomes is playing his eyeballs out,but the defense gets exposed against really good teams/quarterbacks. If they had Josh Simmons, maybe there’s a few less qb pressures, maybe one less sack, who knows. Supposedly he’s back with the team. After the bye they play Denver,Indy and Dallas and they can’t afford to lose any of those games.
