IHJ-65 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Mountain Parka

Thank you guys. Relatively new to the beauty and wonder that is Japanese selvedge denim. I've got a few pairs of jeans that are broke in real nice. I can't wait till this jacket is butter soft and baby blue. I appreciate the welcome.

I've been wearing my IHJ-65 a lot recently.

It's layered with an IHV-24 in this shot, as Melbourne was going through a bit of a cold snap earlier in the week. Normally it's warm enough over a t-shirt and light sweater down to 10°C.

The denim is surprisingly water resistant. It takes over half an hour, possibly even an hour, for it to soak through.

It is still pretty stiff, which makes the hood particularly annoying, as it doesn't really sit flat. I'm hoping that it'll soften up before too long.

I've still got the Mountain Parka, and occasionally wear it. Here it is being modelled with Flash, who I was walking at the Greyhound Adoption Programme on Saturday.

I believe that they were run for a season in 2018, and they didn't sell in big numbers. I picked mine up from the Outlet.

I had an earlier iteration of the denim M-65, and this piece is heavier.

Holy moly this thang is amazing! Not too warm but heavy as feck. I love the unwashed 21oz denim in all its glory. I have been highly anticipating the arrival of this 21oz Mountain Parka ever since @Clint_D sent me photo of it earlier this week. Perfect for layering the 21oz CPO underneath. Definitely wearing this one around the house for the next few days at least! It would be so rad to see more heavy coats like this in the future.

It is such a ridiculously beautiful coat and so over engineered it's silly. I love the light blue chambray lining. I love the patch pockets. I love that it has a hood. So stoked to see how it will evolve by springtime.

It came out the same year the 21oz N1 and 21oz Pea Coat was released. So stoked on this one as it is my favorite of the trio. @T4920 @tody

2018 was an incredible year for denim outerwear. 21oz N1, Pea Coat and Mountain Parka, 14oz B-2, 14oz M-65 & OD and even a brown duck M-65 (I think I have all of those correct). What an amazing year, I wouldn't even know where to start with choosing.
