I can’t compare with the Wescos, sorry !
The 444 look pretty sleek but have good overall volume for the feet. Getting in and out is struggle free, at least for me.
The only thing is the break in
which is quite challenging for most guys. The leather is outstanding ,but thick and stiff, so it needs a little to get comfortable.
I would recommend the same size as your Iron Rangers . -
I am in the market for some 444 and everybody tells me same size as IR is recommended @John-Galt

after the first hours in , I can say that these run a little smaller than the other ones I have. They are overall a little tighter, so if you are in between two sizes you might think of sizing up.
But of course this could be different with every single pair as they are handmade and little tolerances are usual as we all know.For me these are the best fitting ones so far , yes they are pretty tight fitting but the result is absolutely zero heel slip. As always I start with the thinnest socks I have and slowly use thicker ones during the break in progress.
to be more precise, I don’t wear socks in my engineers anymore. I changed to knee high socks or are they called stockings
?
Much more comfortable way to wear engineers from my experience. -

they are absolutely awesome and they will get a wonderful patina with time and wear.
But I need to find a matching leather jacket now as I only have black ones

thought they would line the shaft because of the studs but they didn’t
. They did it at the heel , guess otherwise it could end up painful.
was a little afraid about the studs in the shaft might scratch my shinbone but no problem at all. Worn them in the house for an hour and it worked fine.
