IH-101J-SR - 18oz Selvedge Denim Storm Rider Jacket - Indigo

Is there more information available on the wool / cotton percentages of the blanket lining? I'm also wondering if the quilt lining is insulated.
-
-
@FireGX Yeah I think this is quite important. What I've learned is that vague descriptions usually mean that it is not only just cotton and or wool but a blend of other things as well.
For most jacket linings this usually isn't a problem for me because the blanket lining or sleeves never touch the skin due to layering. Some other brands though when they make wool shirts... If they are not actually wool or cotton as described... Stitching doesn't count for me

@Luijim78 quite happily swap passports with you!
-
Well I can't miss this one! My dad will be proud he still has his lees storm rider from back when he was young!
-
Can anyone comment on how the blanket lining affects the sizing, compared with an unlined Type III for instance, especially the chest measurement? Would a 23 inch chest be more like 22 1/2 inside?
-
@tk303 I bought a size up at last release. Works well to layer, but in retrospect, wish I had gone with my usual UHF size!
-
@Buckeye Thank you for that, appreciate it!
-
Does this iteration run smaller than the last one?
-
@RobeOfTheMagi i don't recall, but presumably the size chart that has been updated will guide you more than how it sized in the past?
-
That's of course true @Alex. In my recollection this jacket did run quite large and I was irritated to find the shoulders in size 40 now being narrower than with the IHSH-33-IND.

@Alex said in IH-101J-SR - 18oz Selvedge Denim Storm Rider Jacket - Indigo:
I actually think it is down to the pattern.
If you look at the shoulder seam on this vs a type iii, it looks higher and more round to the neck.
Given we measure sleeve from that shoulder seam, this naturally exaggerates the sleeve length.

@RobeOfTheMagi This jacket consistently confuses people, understandably. Look at the shoulders and sleeve as a whole (see above)
-
Thanks @Alex. Quality answer as usual!

@tk303 The lining is not that thick imo that it matters that much with sizing correctly.
But the denim is quite stiff, and if you're like me, a bit between 2 sizes, you might need to decide for a certain look.
For me at the end, I prefer a slightly bulkier look with this jacket, it being overall a more cold weather jacket that might need to accommodate UHF, etc.
I tried with a M, and even though it did fit, I felt restricted, and most importantly for me, I kind of lost the cozy feeling of a nice warm winter jacket.Plus you can always shrink it a bit if necessary (CTRL-F the thread to find a user at least who did post shrink results).
Here is a picture with a IH shirt + T-shirt under to give you an idea (same look with a UHF but I took the picture with this one). I'm 180cm and now around 73 kg.
Added bonus for me but I don't like when shirts exceeds too much the jacket length in general, so the slight over-sizing really helps here. -
Interesting point about the shoulder and sleeve length that I hadn't even considered.. it is a tricky one to figure out measurements

@Slash, love the detailed response, thank you!
