It can be really hard to find something my wife and I agree on to watch, and then hard to find time to watch it when tender ears aren’t present.
We wound up watching the BBC Sherlock series, which I had already seen but long enough ago for it to seem new. What a great series that was. And my wife really enjoyed it too, which was nice.
We have discussed Breaking Bad, but she loses interest in shows that open with a slow burn so I am afraid to try it. I accused her of having the attention span of a goldfish. That didn’t go over well.

@mclaincausey, It's been years since I have seen Breaking Bad, so I can't recall how slow the burn is, but trust me - shit gets serious real quick and then doesn't stop!
It's some of the best produced TV I've seen. Bryan Cranston is a fucking beast.

I dig your speakers to TV size ratio @Chibs - as it should be!

i think one reason that made breaking bad so good was it has elements of slow-burn, with lots of character development to where the protagonist effectively becomes the antagonist but also because each episode can generally be taken as its own standalone episode. Some arcs do take time to wrap up, but each episode, iirc, generally has some self-contained storyline.
Even that first episode, it starts out with a pretty big exciting intro and then walks it back on how things go there. It tells a good story in its own right but sets everything up to go on from there. Also that first episode has probably my favorite Jessie line from the whole series, not withstanding the "YO!!!" and "BITCHES" he uses throughout.
Better call saul and Ozark are another couple of ones I'd throw into this list.

@Bridger yeah I think it’s probably my favorite drama of all time in any medium.
It opens with a slow burn, but I was enthralled wire to wire.

@mclaincausey You have to watch The Penguin Lessons with her. On Netflix.

Anyone catch the new season of Dexter? I’ve been hearing a lot of good but the show took such a nosedive after season 4 or 5 that I’m dragging my feet to start it.
