Anyone see the Phoenician Scheme yet? I haven't finished thinking about it but it's brilliant, and somehow the restraint of the performances makes them more sexy...

We had a hot and humid one today so the Mrs and I decided to hide away in the theater and watch two matinees. We did Superman and F1. Supes was solid but might have gone in with too high of expectations. F1 was a blast. The script is familiar but still works and visually wows.

Very nice. A short story by Steven King (not a horror film), told backwards and beautifully adapted. It leaves a lot open and makes you think. Great cast, including Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofo, Mark Hamill and Mia Sarah (Ferris Bueller!). Watched it with my 15 yo son and our conversation about it afterwards was at least as much fun.

Let me start off by saying, I apologize - to all the folks I ever called a geek for liking super heroes lol.
A few buddies from church convinced me to watch the infinity saga, even gave me his Disney plus password and all.
I cannot lie, this thing is freaking awesome. I just got to infinity war and they’re throwing watch party’s for me since I’m a newbie. They’re demanding to watch infinity war and end game with me.
I only have about 4 movies left in this saga and I’m bummed it’s coming to an end lol.
I guess I’m on this thread to inquire - after I’m done with this - what super heroes movie would you guys recommend next? What are MUST WATCH for you guys?
-
@worn2fade maybe not a must but the first Kickass is a lot a fun and might be a good deviation from the Marvel formula

The Old Guard is good. For a superhero movie
@worn2fade -
I watched like 10 movies going back and forth to the Balkans recently and the only one that really stuck with me is 12 monkeys with Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. Good old fashioned time travel sci fi psychological mind f**k with a little love story too.

12 monkeys
Always liked this a lot. Both, Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt act out of their stereotype roles and show how good they are.
My favourite scene is probably this:
Colonics for everyone!

@endo hahaha great scene
-
@Rococo - i did! it's a Wes Anderson film so that's that. if you're a fan, you like it, and if you are not, you won't dislike it
with his movies i always think that i'm just watching a different episode of his wonderful and weird series. i find robotic performances charming, nothing wrong with that.
