Mizmazzle’s Trip Across the Pond
-
So pleased that you’re having such a great trip. I was there a month ago visiting family and friends and always have a great time.
The nice weather is a rare bonus. It’s a country like no other. -
Today was a bit of a hiccup in the travel itinerary. We got to the Cork airport to fly to Bristol, England to meet up with the Brits. Unfortunately the flight was canceled and we missed the reshuffle of being sent off to London on the next flight. So we made arrangements for the 20:30 flight to London. Sadly, we missed a day of time with our friends but they will meet us tomorrow for the LCD Soundsystem show in London and then we have 8 days to spend with them (@Oaktavia including Mondays trip to Gosport!)
Spent the day walking around Cork. Which turned into a fun day after all! Back at the airport again now with some time to kill….enjoy some random photos!! 🥸
I’ve been getting into leather working and wanted to make Morgan and I some passport holders for our trip. Took me 3 weeks to design prototypes and perfect the final copies. They’ve been getting some nice wear on em!! Thanks a ton for all the support on this project @seawolf and for the leather @SourPower
822s getting tons of wear so far…though common sense would have me in shorts it’s been so warm.
Mixing it up in Cork, Ireland
IHE-51 also getting lots of love on the trip!

@jordanscollected man! It was a little odd leaving Dublin in the rental car. Then we were on the highway and it was not bad at all. Then we got the countryside and the roads are sooo narrow and tractors, farm equipment, the speed demon locals!! Sheesh. Being on the opposite side makes it very unfamiliar to gauge how far out the car is on the left which is where the edge of the road and bushes and trees and rocky cliff edges are haha. Morgan and I tested our marriage a bit on those back roads of the western Irish coast.
-
@Jett129 you will not regret coming here!! I’ve done my share of traveling and this place is truly special. Next time we come back, I want to rent motorcycles and ride the whole Wild Atlantic Way! The roads and scenery are just perfection.
Also, thanks for the price points back home. Super helpful. I checked out the Duty Free here at Cork airport and the PX was about €100 and the Cask Strength was about €90…

@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot
That’s nuts man!! You
must have had some very cool bottles in your collection!! -
This post is deleted!
-
@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot haha. I had a feeling that was a joke but then again…I would never doubt your prowess for the best shit on the planet!! Glad you’ve focused your skills towards denim, boots and flannels these days!!
-
@Mizmazzle passport holders are looking mint! Living vicariously through y’all and can’t wait to hear your recommendations!
-
@Mizmazzle we did South-West England last year and went over by ferry. Left-hand drive makes it easier to gauge distance to the hedge by the side of the road
. Trip to Gosport was mandatory
-
@Tago-Mago you get it man! That hedge side is dodgy indeed when driving on the right side of the car. I do feel like driving a few days did make my pedestrian- street cross walking skills better.
-
@Mizmazzle Great photos and stories. Thanks for sharing.
-
@Mizmazzle The passport wallets look great! And so does the rest of your trip.
-
@Mizmazzle looks like you constantly came back to Tower Bridge
So good to see you're having the best of times!
-
Had a breakfast bagel sandwich and some curry at borough market in 2016 that I also still think about. Real hidden gems there.
-
Welcome to London town @Mizmazzle
These are probably on your radar, but if not.
https://sonofastag.com/ - close to Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market
https://clutch-cafe.com/ - not far from Daunt Books Marylebone (oldest book store in London) and The Wallace Collection museum (with the 2nd biggest armoury collection in the UK). Clutch Cafe is not open Sundays.
-
@tody thanks man. Our hotel was right by the bridge so it was at the start and end of the days we were in London. Great landmark for finding one’s way home.
@Bridger thanks for the recs! It was a quick two nights in town and then we were out. London is def a dynamic place. So much bigger than I realized.

The moment I’d been waiting for, for soooo very long and it was damn amazing!!!
Ladies and Gents….GOSPORT!!!
RIP Filthy!
Couldn’t think of a better way to commemorate this visit than with something so unique and downright badass as a pair of 805s brothers and sisters!!
Of course Morgan had to get in on the action!!
Can’t thank the crew enough for being every bit as cool and hospitable as any of us would ever imagine them to be! Made this all even more amazing for us!!
Solid haul indeed. How in the F&$K am I going to get this all home…
