SEXIH25-CPO - Self Edge x Iron Heart 19oz Denim CPO Shirt
-
My only gripe is with the way SE measure their pieces.
In the past, if I ever needed something from them, I just look at the measurements on the IH site, then order from SE.
-
If anyone in attendance at the party could let us know how this fits compared to the 293 that'd be much appreciated!
-
A look at the new fabric from their Facebook story! Looks very interesting! -
@fuzzybunnies buttons look shiny hinting at the new OD method which makes sense. Fabric looks soft!!
-
That pic is making me question if I wait for the SBG restock or dive in here, I can only do one right now.
-
@VegaS10 Yea, I did some cross referencing IH measurements vs Self Edge and across the chest they always seem to report somewhere around 1-2" smaller.
I think going in knowing that -- along w/ what size you normally wear will allow us to make a somewhat educated guess. I'd just go look at the reported SE measurements of some pieces you already own and use that as the guide.
Definitely wish the IH guys were able to get measurements off first because, IMO, they do it the correct way.
-
@Snafu Interesting. I'm only just now noticing these discrepancies for measurements as I wade deeper into this denim affliction.
I recently bought a pair of Samurai jeans from SE and their measurements were too big by several inches, in the waist, especially. Then I picked on fellow denimheads using Blue Owl's measurements as a reference that typically holds true. Fortunately, I was able to exchange for a pair that I think will fit; they show up today.
So then what's the discrepancy in measurement? Is it where the measurements are taken on the garments? How they are taken? I'm curious.
-
@Bobcat-Sig different methods, different people, different attention to detail. So many things involved. There is no 'right' way, but if you find someone that is consistent, and you can replicate their measurements, then you are sorted
-
@Alex, I ran into this exact issue ordering a pair of 634-21OD. I needed a measurement of 34 on the waist. Their size 34 measured at 33, while their size 36 had a measurement of 34. I knew this was wrong. Their measurements for the waist (where I mainly focus on), were different by over an inch. The way they measure the waist makes zero sense and allows for major discrepancies.
Thankfully, I referenced the IH site, discovered the size I needed and ordered from SE.
I know my sizing in Work/Western UHFs, Type III jackets, N1s, and most cuts, but the CPOs can be tricky....and if the measurements are as wonky as my previous experience, I may skip this all together, as they don't take any returns of any kind.
-
@Snafu this makes sense to me as, I take 1" off of IHUKs chest measurements. so seeing this info we're in the .5" threshold.
-
@Alex has it right. Can confirm that at least 2 weeks ago SESF had the goods. And boy are they
-
New pic of the OD fabric.
Obviously not the CPO but the same fabric.
-
Wellp I was just telling this to Mark but I think I have finally decided the OD CPO is what I'll be snagging. Here is my thought process: I have the Mad Black 25oz which is its own OD mystery, the 22oz OD T3 using sulphur dye method, plus adding this one which uses the direct dye method will complete the overdye trifecta in my collection.
At first, the information regarding this new OD method yields a denim that is more resistant to fade was a turn off for me. But now, it has presented itself in my mind as a fade challenge. It will still fade, but apparently more stubbornly, so bring it the feck on y'all.
-
why would they burn a perfectly good shirt like that? #SMFH

@Oaktavia ... There's a 22oz sulphur dyed T3..? Well there's the next item to hunt!! Thanks!
