IH-1955S-OD - 21oz Selvedge Denim "1955" Vintage Tapered Cut Jeans - OD Black
-
Adding to the "same size or different" I'll add a little data. I just got my 1955S OD yesterday, and as usual, first thing I did was a hot wash and hot dry cycle inside out. I like to get it a little softer this way and it kicks off the roping effect on the new hem.
I didn't measure ahead, but after the waist on the 32 measured all the way down to just above a 30" waist. After a day of wearing it, it's all the way back to a 33" waist, and all the measurements are exactly the same as my 1955S non-OD from a few years ago. Or at least within margin. Now, of course, denim stretches with use, and depending on fit, lots of different sizes work. I have other pairs of high-rise Oni denim that fit comfortably at 34" cause of how much that stuff stretches. So people sizing up a size, I think you'll be happy too, both options will work imo.

These diappeared so fast! Is there any chance of another restock soon-ish?
-
@CloakAndGrime I;m afraid not bud.
14oz Indigo however coming around August / September and then any 21oz / 21oz OD will be after that.
-
Haven't taken these off since I got them in- Texas humidity be damned. Paired today with the 14oz OD type III. Im pleasantly surprised with how well the higher rise and longer jacket interact.
The indigo pair is sitting in my closet untouched for now, and I may bring them out for this year's indigo invitational.

@KA56 I LOVE the combination of the two overdyed garments with that shirt. Extremely cool. I want to get the 1955od also next drop, rocking my indigos all the time
-
@Graham I love how we are in this cycle of the heavy stuff coming out in the spring and the light weight stuff coming out in the fall. lol
-
@Go-For-Chill In the IH world 21oz is more like a mid weight
-
Stoked on this fit! Got my usual size of 35, pretty much the same size in every cut (Aside from the ones my thighs won't fit into)
-
Side note- I was trying to figure out what I like about these so much more than my 888S-21. I think I figured it out, the back pockets are significantly closer together on the 1955's than the 888's!
-
any idea when these will restock?

For those familiar with Iron Heart's 21 oz. denim in OD and indigo versions, would you size up one size for the OD version here? I know that some of you did this with the OD version of the 888S-21 and it worked out well.
-
@JohnM. There is no cookie cutter answer to your question. The Iron Heart sizing guide is the most reliable tool to help with that decision. In some runs and cuts the regular versio and the OD versions are pretty close in measurements and you can take the same tag size. In some other instances you may need to size up as the OD version has smaller measurements.
-
Basically, all the OD version of anything we make is just an overdyed version of the indigo version. We do not resize, we just OD. So basically the OD version will start off smaller than the Non OD version, because it has shrunk to the max in the OD process, but should stretch to non OD size, or very close, with wear.
-
@JohnM I took my same size in both varies of the 1955 as well as OD 888-21 without issue. The measurement of where the jean will button up on your body is going to be key between each variety of pants. I think if you take this dimension you should be able set.
