I have a voucher that will expire soon but what I really want is a black pullover hoodie in M or a pair of duck camo cargos in 34. Since neither is available what should I use my voucher on?

I have a work shirt that I, well... Maybe I worked a bit too hard in and the pits truly stink. And every time I wash the shirt the stink either remains or comes back pretty quick; a regular wash with detergent, no spin and hang drying isn't cutting it. Anyhow, any suggestions? Maybe soak it in distilled vinegar before washing? Target the pits with baking soda?

Have you tried spraying the pits with vodka? Otherwise, oxyclean, run it through a sanitizing cycle in the washer, or boil it in a pot?

@pechelman I'm 3 years sober so no vodka, but I do have rubbing alcohol. I'll give it a shot! I really don't want to use any heat on it because the fit is perfect as it is and I'm fearful of shrinking. Might look into oxyclean though if the rubbing alcohol fails, thank you!

@freepickin you could try mixing a few drops of essential oil with alcohol or water and see if that helps. Or extreme measures, I use some Biokleen Bac-out or Dreft stain remover spray for animal/toddler accidents. They have some enzyme stuff which can kill tough stains and odors. I tend to use Dreft on clothes and the other product for rugs and furniture.

Not sure if I should post this here or in the care thread, it’s a question not so much about washing but drying jeans.
I normally wash jeans inside out; machine wash on a handwash cycle 30 degrees ( a ‘delicate’ cycle would be shorter, perhaps that would be better?)
No spin, roll in towels to get most of the water and hang to dry on line, still inside out, upside down hanging from the hem. This is to get rid of any creases etc. Once around 90% dry, bring them in, turn right way out and hang from the belt loops to finish drying.
I’ve seen a lot of guides saying to do all the drying right way out and hang from the belt loops. What would be the advantage of doing it this way?

@Cymro To be honest, I think it’s all personal preference and others may/will chime in with their thoughts.

@Cymro I wash and then spin at about 0 or 400 (depending what I feel like/whether a crow has flown past the window/whether there is an R in the month etc etc etc)......

Then I turn right side out and hang on a line.

                        End of.

Do you think you fade a shirt better by wearing it beneath another shirt?

@RobeOfTheMagi Yes and you could look up @denim-dawg’s experience of wearing bibs over his jeans as inspiration.

Time, wear, and friction would all contribute to fading.

@RobeOfTheMagi I've always wondered if there might be a little abrasion happening from shirt-to-shirt contact, but it's got to be minimal at best.

This should be the IHV-13 vest. Any idea how much of these were made?
