@freepickin you could try mixing a few drops of essential oil with alcohol or water and see if that helps. Or extreme measures, I use some Biokleen Bac-out or Dreft stain remover spray for animal/toddler accidents. They have some enzyme stuff which can kill tough stains and odors. I tend to use Dreft on clothes and the other product for rugs and furniture.

Not sure if I should post this here or in the care thread, it’s a question not so much about washing but drying jeans.
I normally wash jeans inside out; machine wash on a handwash cycle 30 degrees ( a ‘delicate’ cycle would be shorter, perhaps that would be better?)
No spin, roll in towels to get most of the water and hang to dry on line, still inside out, upside down hanging from the hem. This is to get rid of any creases etc. Once around 90% dry, bring them in, turn right way out and hang from the belt loops to finish drying.
I’ve seen a lot of guides saying to do all the drying right way out and hang from the belt loops. What would be the advantage of doing it this way?

I have a work shirt that I, well... Maybe I worked a bit too hard in and the pits truly stink. And every time I wash the shirt the stink either remains or comes back pretty quick; a regular wash with detergent, no spin and hang drying isn't cutting it. Anyhow, any suggestions? Maybe soak it in distilled vinegar before washing? Target the pits with baking soda?

@RobeOfTheMagi Yes and you could look up @denim-dawg’s experience of wearing bibs over his jeans as inspiration.

Time, wear, and friction would all contribute to fading.

Are the IH 14oz denim good for summer? I’ve heard mixed reviews. For reference, I live in the Midwest, USA so it can get hot and humid.

@ssherman95 This was a response to a similar question in the 555-14oz thread from @Steve an IHUK staff member:

@Steve said in IH-555S-142 - 14oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Cut Jeans - Indigo:

@GardenState I have a pair of the 14oz in the 555 cut (on left) and 21oz, in the 777 cut (the 14oz I have had probably 6 months longer), and if I'm honest I havent really noticed any difference when I wear them in the summer from a breathability aspect - the tighter weave counter balances the denim weight - but the 14oz I do find a bit more comfortable in the summer to move around in (cycling etc) which you tend to do as you are out and about more. I find also the 14oz denim is a bit more electric blue in colour. Hope this helps!

Hope this helps and I also moved your question to this thread.
