For some reason this Al Swearengen speech on “despair” found its way to me yesterday. Deadwood is one of my favorite all time shows…anyone else a fan?

That show was the best.

In complete contrast, I'll add South Side (on Max) as an option for anyone in need of a laugh. It's a shame it was cancelled, but season 1 and 2 are very, very re-watchable. I've heard that season 3 was bad, maybe tinkered with by corporate powers that be or something similar, haven't gotten to it yet.

I’ve let our “Max” subscription lapse but probably need to revisit. I think HBO set the standard for such a long time.

Hell yes to Swearengen and Deadwood! Also remember watching Carnival around this time… season 1 was great.

@SKT yeah the ditching of HBO from the name seemed to be accompanied by a low-brow-ification of the channel in general. Bunch of reality shows etc being pushed on the main page. It’s not my fave, but there are some good shows and movies on there. I’ve axed it and resubscribed many times.

We started watching a show called, Teacup a few days ago on Peacock. Really liking it. Like an adult version of Stranger Things I might say.
