Correct, it is not a legal requirement. For some reason a lot of Germans think that it is, but they are wrong. Maybe it is a Germanic urban myth.....

Hey folks! Long-time listener, first time caller...and all that. What better way to hit the ground running than with this sucker. Handful of initial pics after its delivery. An even better fit than my Olive Sateen M65 - and as for that denim, well....I'm looking at all my 'un'natural indigo denim in a new light.
If anyone has been on the fence on this piece - and I see there's still some out there with retailers - I urge you to JFDI!

Recieved the jacket and absolutely love it. I’m wondering if the xxxl is too wide on me? I ordered an xxl from snake provisions just in case. I am 6’8” so the vertical length and sleeve length of the xxxl was preferred. Now im thinking the xxl may be a bit better more of a tailored fit while still allowing some layering. What do you all think …

@trcavanaugh doesn’t look wide to me at all. Shoulders look great and from behind I think it looks perfect especially where it’s hitting on the waist.

@trcavanaugh i think your climate and how you plan to wear it may help with the decision.
It looks great as is. The sleeves sit right and they should shorten a little as the elbows crease. Body length is spot on as are the shoulders. However if the xxl fits you more tailored and you plan on wearing over a t-shirt mainly you could possibly size down.

@trcavanaugh I think the looser (mind you it doesnt look that loose) looks better with a 65 mate. Plus, it looks killer on you. 65's need to be beaten up as they are designed to. Mofo'n field coat. Loose to move free in a shit fight. In this case the big blue yonder we live in, and hopefully bullet n bomb free! Personally fitted is to fancy suit wearing for me in this style. And the evo will give it full justice as rugged bomb proof IH wear.. my 2 cents

@trcavanaugh It doesn't look too wide, at least from the front and back. And it's got a drawstring to tighten up the opening if you find that too wide.
The length, sleeve length, and shoulders all look perfect. Sizing down would probably mean these dimensions are too small.

@trcavanaugh to me it looks good. Also consider what you will be wearing underneath. If you want to add a shirt or other layer sizing down may not be a good idea

Exactly my thought as well. The M65 is a field jacket meant as a layering shell so it’s meant to have some wiggle room for a liner or vest. I own a deadstock M65 and your fit is similar to my OG piece. IMO it’s a keeper and makes me rethink this all over again.
