@mclaincausey Just saw that Robin Trower is doing a 50th Anniversary tour, and that a local NY blues singer,Sari Schoor, will be handling the vocals. I’ve met her a few times over the years when she sang for Popa Chubby. She’s actually quite good. I’ve met her as we have a mutual friend. Funny how these things happen sometimes.

@Aetas - and now my friend you have me on a retrospective binge listening and big thanks for that!
this one is also The Fall at it's best -i've seen them around dozen times, and as always you could expect anything to happen, although MES was mostly composed when i saw them. but still there were some extra magic in those peel sessions

Tribute album on the way for one of my favorite guitarists, Lowell George. I love Little Feat and always feel like they’re kind of overlooked.

Plus Lowell was a member of the brotherhood!

Lowell is one of my favorites too. His hedonism got him: his last act was housing a large, loaded pizza by himself, probably drunk and high on cocaine.
I love Little Feat, but he was the best part of Little Feat to me in the same way that Jerry (another hedonist whose vices did him in prematurely) was the best part of the Grateful Dead. Feat’s best material for me was his sleazy swamp rock, and while they were still excellent as the rest of the band dragged the operation towards prog rock, I’ll always prefer Lowell. “Thanks, I’ll Eat It Here” was great and it’s a shame his solo career didn’t last longer.

@mclaincausey Waiting for Columbus has always been my favorite because it was such a showcase of how good they were live. My dad got to see them live a few times and still raves about it.
Also, didn’t know that about his last meal. Sounds right
-
@SKT one of the greatest live albums I’ve ever heard for sure.
-
@mclaincausey I was never a huge Grateful Dead fan but I got to see them live once with Jerry and it was insanely good for a lot of reasons. I’m going to write it up in the memorable concerts thread when I get around to it.

RIP Dickey Betts

Dickey wrote the best songs. RIP indeed.

@Matt More breakup songs. Broken hearts sell -- even if they're not really broken.
