IH-888-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo

The fact that they have not been washed makes virtually no difference to how contrasty the fades will be, it's not like any of our denims are a wishy washy blue, we wash to take the sizing agents out of the denim and to make sizing more predictable. Haraki hates unpredictability. Another denim I specced, the original 18os raw, was unpredictable, I loved it but Haraki hated it (I gave up arguing with him, which is one of the reasons it is no more). The 25oz is sanforised but not washed, I just wanted to offer something a bit more like the denim experience of old. @alex and I have discussed the 18oz a lot and Alex will try his damndest to get it back as a constant offering.

These are really amazing. Probably 7-8 wears in after a hot soak and hang dry. I ride my bike to work and the creases are already amazing. No saggines in the butt, either. The whole conform to your body thing is real.
Can’t believe how much more comfortable they are now compared to straight out of the bag.

no wash no soak and just barely over the 100 day mark

Man I know you know, but I’d be beyond psyched if Alex succeeded on that. Still my favorite IH denim, and that’s saying a lot considering how much I love XHS and UHR.

@olblue These are looking great, come the end of the year and they will be absolutely stellar. Nothing beats XHS in my opinion.

Guys, it's getting warmer and warmer now. 25oz are very hot inside buildings.

Not if you blast air conditioning...but I don't do that until it is HOT outside, steady 80s-90sF. Springtime is warmer indoors than summer for that reason. At least at my house anyway. I try to wear XHS all year around (but that's only because I'm obsessed with it) with this in mine but that can be tricky when being outside away from AC for any extended period of time.

Supposed to be 90 today here, and I ride my bike to work. My 14 oz SBR (pic) will be tested for the first time in the heat.
I picked up my UHRs this morning and then quickly put them down haha

@drewfonse be aware that 14oz may be the "lightest" denim IH makes, it is not the most breathable.

And it’s true.
But I find them more comfortable when it gets warm. Both the 142s and the SBR fit a little more loosely than my other 888 denim, so that helps.
I had the 142s towards the end of the Summer last year and they were bearable. The OG 21oz are surprisingly breathable.
Tomorrow will be 80 and will likely be the last day at lower than 85 for a while. I’ll trot out the UHRs one last time until the Fall.

Definitely don’t have it all figured out, but I’ve learned to only buy IH jeans, at least.
