I am totally pissed. The eyelets on my M-43s are coming loose. Looks like they are not grabbing the leather enough, and the diameter of the inner side looks terribly small to begin with. Emailed Lofgren, asking if and how this can be fixed. Received a gentle but determined Fuck Off and the advice to contact the seller. Will get in touch with my local cobbler to see if he can put in slightly oversized eyelets.

@tody woow that sucks! And crazy that they don’t wanna fix it for you.. hopefully your cobbler can fix it but for that amount of money you expect something else..

@tody really annoying but my guess is this would be an easy job for your cobbler. Maybe an opportunity to improve on the original spec aesthetically as well as structurally?

@tody That’s not good to hear from the manufacturer. Did you buy them from one of the stockists or second hand? I’m curious why they would not stand behind their product.

Total bummer @tody that really sucks after spending that kind of money. I fell like even if it was a less expensive pair of shoes that eyelets should stay attached. That’s kind of a basic part of shoe making no?

I bought them second hand, but unworn. The question i asked was how to fix it, not to have them fix it. I expected an answer in the lines of that it is sometimes an issue, nothing to worry about, that a cobbler can fix it or even what eyelets they use and which (oversized) replacements they recommend. Unfortunately I didn‘t get that kind of answer.

That’s just terrible customer service, don’t really know what else to say.

Looks like they may have punched the wrong (too large) diameter in the leather for that size of eyelet. Pretty lame response from them but this should be an easy fix.

@ARNC Tonal eyelets? Or a more contrasting colour?

I would go for chrome / silver , maybe brass. it would look great with the olive
