I don’t go to many punk shows. I don’t even see that many come to town. And a lot of my punk heroes aren’t touring. People like Minutemen, NOMEANSNO, Victims Family, Fugazi, Dead Kennedys, and Black Flag.
I was walking by a theater here and saw the unmistakable Black Flag logo. Went to see them with a dear friend from the southwestern reaches of Colorado and we had the best time. They played My War for the first set and greatest hits second set.
Hella fun if you have the chance. And the fans were as courteous and kind as could be. That’s why I’m posting here, to celebrate punks and punk rock.

@mclaincausey that's fucking awesome man!

Something I love about being in the punk scene was the juxtaposition of raw and civility. The pit could be so brutal, the band so angry, but everyone always helps each other up when they get knocked down. Even though I’ve been to plenty of shows with some shithead skin heads trolling the crowds, punks by and large are great, intelligent people with a strong social conscious.

@Mizmazzle HAHAHA dude, that reminds me of a pit at one show where somebody stepped on my shoe and it fell off and i was like "welp, thats gone forever". but it ended up being thrown around minutes later as if each thrower was seeking its owner and it came right back to me with almost zero effort of my own. Vans Sk8 Hi BMX bro

@WhiskeySandwich haha...great story!!
I have a slightly similar one...I was at the first MIsfits reunion show when Glen came back. The Riot Fest in Denver, 2016. The pit was massive!!! Lost my shoe during like the third song! I saw it on the ground as I was coming back around the circle. Just before I got to it some dude picked it up and chucked it into the crowd before I could get his attention haha...I had no shoe the rest of the show...stayed in the pit the whole time. After the crowd was leaving at the end of the show I found some random Van on the ground that was way too big for me and that's how I walked out of the show...mismatched shoes one the size of a clown shoe haha.
