Jazz Is Dead presents the Blue Note Records 85th Anni show in Berkeley. The band was insanely good - notably Kendrick Scott and Joel Ross.

Couldn't get a shot of the drummer. The number of tall people in the audience was abnormally high for this gig for some reason lol

We love going to see our favourite band from waaaay back. Canadian music fans might know 54-40. They never achieved the same fame as some other bands, but it’s the music I grew up on. They play the Horseshoe in Toronto every first weekend of December and our best friends and me and my wife go every year.

Fun side story, but when my best friend turned 50, he had Neil play an acoustic set at his home.

Just got tickets to Lamb of God and Mastadon at a venue that’s 5 minutes from my house. I could walk there.

LoG are playing Ashes of the Wake and Mastodon are playing Levithan. 20th anny of each.

I know. The email just popped up this morning. I’m always looking for a good show at this venue since it’s crazy close but it’s always garbage like Imagine Dragons or some weird Latinx group with 12 guys in sparkly suits and cowboy hats and they all look like someone’s uncle.

That would be pretty magical. Mastodon delivers and I can only imagine seeing them there.

and to open sound artist KMRU and visual artist Markus Heckmann performing/presenting Dissolution Grip.

Both were single uninterrupted pieces so worth experiencing in a concert setting free from distractions.

me and my wife went to the Depeche Mode concert in Hamburg yesterday
was absolutely awesome !! specially the sound was absolutely brilliant, can’t remember a concert with better.

Not sure we were in the same post (zip) code when we saw DM at Twickenham Stadium (London) last year, but the sound was awesome.

My next two gigs are to see Echo & The Bunnymen at a local 400 capacity venue (doing a pre-tour warm up), and I got Pearl Jam tickets this morning for Tottenham Stadium (London) in the summer, which has a 60000+ capacity - quite the difference!

I got to see PJ about 20 years ago. They delivered. I also saw Flaming Lips on the first Yoshimi tour at about the same time so I’m trying to decide if seeing them play it on this years tour is worth the $60 ticket price.

Obviously. It’s possible I saw her at a festival in the 90’s but I don’t remember. ️
